I didn’t see any of the crashes in the moment bc I was trailing just trying not to “die.” Lmao. Chaos! Was kool to meet Roger, James and his son, everyone was super chill and encouraging! I need a new wheel, and a lot more experience.😂

I also agree I think Roger would have taken it if it had been longer after rewatching. But it was a team victory nonetheless. He still got to bring home a new mten❤

Interesting to watch from a form perspective. I've learned some useful techniques by watching Dawn's vids. Arms out front is a great way to coax more speed and acceleration out of a stubborn machine would be one of them.

Great Dawn. How fun, wish I was there. Roger sure has good form and control. These didn't exist when I lived in So Cal. Now I'm stuck in NM where no one rides. I know we're at the birth of these cool races, and we're just now learning from every race; these are my improvement thoughts: 1) Way too many racers at one time on this small track. Three or four at the most; not fair to the rear poll positions. 2) There needs to be classifications of wheels; either by wheel size, voltage, motor size, etc. I guess this is open class, so... 3)The start needs something different; maybe like a downhill ski race start, where riders can stand on the pedals and hold onto side rails, get some momentum with your arms, then the ground crew takes the rails away for the race. It almost comes down to who can mount the wheel better wins, and it shouldn't be that way. 4) Age classification. I'm 64, I could never compete against the young bucks. I know there's not enough participants to do these things yet, but maybe in the future. 5) Building race wheels is the thing for you Dawn, or Roger. Having a roll cage around the wheel, where you can hold onto the side hand holds and lean into the turn, like a motorcycle oval racer. Sitting during the turn and leaning hard, then standing on the straights, seems like the perfect form, but you need to build the wheel for that.

I think classifications are certainly a good idea that seem to be on the way. Open class is cool too. Honestly, starting unmounted is fair tho you are likely correct about too many riders for this particular small course. 9 would look alright here. AVS can handle many more and poll position there is done by speed trials.

@@greenwave819 It's mainly unfair for the 2nd and 3rd lines, if the person in front of you has a bad mount, like Roger did, the guy behind him suffers. It's all new, and they learn from every race. I'd love to try racing.

Awesome. I’d love this to be a thing more generally, for a number of reasons, but mostly because 1) it takes a lot of skill, and these guys are awesome for pushing so hard 2) it’s just so much less likely people get seriously hurt or killed racing at 30-40 vs car or motorcycle racing at 150+. It’ll get held back because people don’t really understand the skill involved, but it’s awesome to watch. I hope it catches on.

Yup. The V13 turns like a pig. It’s like bringing a Challenger Demon to a Ferrari race. Fast in the straight but destroyed in the corners.
