I have a lot of complex questions but I feel like I understand what this is a lot more than what I originally did. This is a fan project, made by someone, probably someone old and the kids in the film are actors, either that or this is another Kane Pixels scenario where a talented kid made this somehow. This is an unfiction / mystery series (not an ARG, although there are some ARG elements right now, like hidden codes, so it might be) that I think has been in the making for a long time and subsequently planned for a long time. The E Slater name being "five years later" can just be a coincidence, because it could also have been 3 years later or 5 years later or 7 years later, lots of numbers have the letter E in it and I think he knew that. There's definitely a lot of semblence of planning, Gumball Ever After and the Disney plus video from 2 to 1 year ago seem to suggest that this video we're watching right now was being planned for more than 2 to 3 years, perhaps. So whoever this fan is, he's really dedicated. There's definitely something weird about this channel and I wouldn't be surprised if Valiks or some bigger youtuber was connected to it in some way. In my opinion, this is definitely very similar to lasgnacat or Gilbert Garfield, and it is 100% fanmade, the creator really REALLY wants you to believe it's real, but I know it's not real, because theres no reason to make this if you're working on gumball, unless it's just a tactic to keep hype while spending 12 years on making a movie, but I believe this is fanmade, the VAs were unofficial imitations, the animation was close enough but had some flaws and the cinematography is a little amateur, aswell as the bad audio, but that's most likely intentionally planned as the first video has the same description, probably making this the last video on the channel and what we were waiting for 5 years. The movie itself is a whole metaphor for TAWOG's movie, I don't think the gumball in the movie is actually gumball or the darwin is actually darwin. Toby represents the normal people, like us, people who don't really care about the show ending. "Gumball" or Zackary, is very emotional over the show ending. Darwin is a metaphor for the show itself. Toby is trying to help because it's just a silly TV show to him and it ended 5 years ago on a cliff hanger so who cares. That's why he says "Grow up". There's nothing you can do to make the movie just appear. It's never gonna happen. Zack begins to walk home and the illusion breaks. He's no longer Gumball, even though he probably wants to be Gumball, the screen glitches and the entire show flashes right before his very eyes. Somehow, Darwin is alive again. The music isn't really happy either and Gumball looks more confused than happy. Darwin says he was gone for "like 5 seconds" which I think is an indicator to me that he's now fantasizing about Darwin coming back, but it's too late, the illusion has already dropped. He looks down... all the sticky notes are gone, except for one "I can't say goodbye" He then appears in a white room, Darwin is just a fish, he's just a 2d creature, there is nothing but a computer. He turns off the computer. I personally feel like this entire thing is like a metaphor for TAWOG ending and the movie never arriving, he can't say goodbye to TAWOG and fantasizes about it so much so that it probably engulfs his actual life to the point where he thinks that he is Gumball. Knowing this, he finally gets the courage to stop caring and turn off the computer. There is another interpretation of it though, that the human gumball we see is the real gumball and the show is just "A DIFFERENT LIFE" that's suspiciously similar to his own life and he finds out that he is just a TV character and he turns off the computer which is showing the e slater video. But I feel like my other intepretation makes a lot more sense, the Gumball we see is NOT Gumball, but a hardcore fan of the show, Toby is a normal person like you or me who doesn't care about the show as much as Zack does. Darwin dying is representative of the show ending and similarly, like death, ending without closure, happening so suddenly, left on a cliff hanger. 5 years later, he still misses the show but most people just tell him to grow up. I think him running into the clips of the show is just him going through his memory of watching the show and having it flash infront of him all at once, only for him to fantasize about the show coming back as if it never even ended at all, only to leave him in a white room which I consider to be reality, the realization that you're just an obsessed superfan and maybe you should stop caring and turn off the computer. The computer represents E Slater's channel and him hoping for the movie to come out so I don't think there's going to be anything after this, this is the final product of what he planned probably 2 to 3 years ago. The extent of which this was planned had to have been somewhat recent, as in, it must have only started 2 to 3 years ago, but the channel was supposedly called e slater this entire time, though, it may have changed at some point, I don't know. Theres so many questions I have and maybe this really is official and it takes place in like an alternate universe where the inquisition was a success and everyone became human, but at the cost of Darwin losing his life, only for him to realize that an alternate universe exists, but I can't help but think that the white room void is his true reality, and the only way to solve this is to just turn off the computer.

Yeah i think the same thing. The only thing that makes me think it could be real would be the first video of the channel being uploaded before the final episode was aired. I think that this isn't official, but was made by a group of workers of the original show. I think that would be the reason that you could say that it looks like it was planned. Because the ones uploading videos to this channel had insides on the development hell that the movie is facing. That would be the only logical answer

Okay so I googled it, the movie’s supposedly expected to be out on December 13 this year? Going by how this guy uploads, when the show ended 5 years ago, he posted several meme videos, up until 2023 when “GumballMovie2023” came out around the time Max had cancelled it. Then, early this year, Hanna Barbera Studios Europe picked up season seven which is coming out soon, and the movie was confirmed June of last year. All of these videos lead up to this year, with the “Who is e slater” film having Darwin’s death represent the end of the show, because Gumball mutters “5 years today” to Tobias in the film, and the note saying “I can’t say goodbye” assumingely represents the movie’s new release date. This short film is a “We’re so back.”

I think there is a "the grieving" reference in the video. Notice how gumball is sad. The video seems to hint gumball's brother went missing or died. This is an original comment. you can look at other comments on the video. be skeptical if a comment or reply says "edited". Look at how long another comment or reply's date compared to this one. *_Here's my theory:_* Rob managed to escape the void and change everyone into humans in time expect for Darwin. *Since Darwin was still in his cartoon form, he died or people thought he died* to the void. Remember when Rob said "rgh!, why did the stop me? transformation is the *Only* chance they have of escaping to the other place when this world (gasp).....oh no, it started." The developers said the movie would fill the gap between season 6 and season 7. I think *E slater is the season 7 or a part of it.* I think the developers said there would probably be a time gap between season 6 and the movie due to the voice actors growing up. I assume the characters in this video are older because of the time gap. Remember when gumball in this video said "it's been 5 years?". I think that means it's been 5 years since Darwin died or thought to have been dead since the currently unreleased _Gumball Movie_ . *I think Darwin went missing off camera then 5 years later we see what happens in the video which would explain why the characters are older in this video.*

I think Darwin was pronounced dead when Gumball and Darwin were still in the 8th grade. So 5 years after Darwin's pronounced death, Gumball would be in 12 grade. Did you hear how deep Gumball's voice was in the video? that definitely sounds like a male 12th grade voice to me. Remember when Rob tried transforming the characters into live action characters? I think that's the reason why the characters in the video are live action.

whether or not this is an indie passion project or something to tease the movie (and eventual reboot already confirmed), it's really impressive. The cinematography is amazing and the story told is very interesting. Leaves many more questions than answers. The way that the information in this video and the previous one scream "meta" (in a good way!) that immediately reminds people of the original show and how that was its main base for humor is incredibly smart. "it was 5 years ago today" may be a reference to the first e slater video uploaded, which came out June 2nd 2019. This video in itself has multiple references towards previous e slater videos, similar to the previous video that came out, just with a different mood. This show has been running since I was a little kid and it's what got me into animation in the first place. It's amazing to see other people share the same love that I have for it. I remember I used to run into videos like the old clickbaity e slater videos and would get so mad. Very strange to see one of those channels develop into a full on project (not that I'm complaining).
