ESO Advanced Antiquities Guide - BEST way to Excavate/Scry & Level

You should let people know that if you do all of the free/starter excavations in ALL zones you can go back to the antiquities HQ and there will be a stack of coins on a dresser on the second floor that will give you a lead to a treasure that is worth 100K gold. But you need to do the all the free/starter green to blue to purple leads in ALL zones including DLC.

Just started playing again, started in western Skyrim. How do you get the free starter one do they just appear when your in other zone? I did start the quest line and got a green one.

Fun facts! 1) It is *much* easier to hunt for dig sites in zones where it is nighttime. The glow from the keen eye passive really sticks out. 2) If you are not happy with the results of your scry and are left with multiple dig sites to hunt for. You can abandon that scry attempt after you click E to clear the map of potential dig sites and make a 2nd attempt on your original scry. This can be done until you get the result you want and are left with only the *actual* dig site to find.

So many content creators say “do antiquities in small zones.” This isn’t the best option. I prefer a zone with over 15 way shrines. I spend a lot less time traveling in the larger zones. Approximately 80% of the sites are close to a shrine. (Summerset is a good example)

If you get 5/6 on the scrying game marking two dig site on the map you can just redo the puzzle till it 6/6.

Once you find the first Antiquity square, don't use the Auger on adjacent squares (squares that share a side). Diagonal squares (corners touch) will give much more info on the location of the item. _Don't remove fissures by themselves!_ You may lose extra loot if you don't use them to clear large areas. Can't believe you didn't cover this, Brah!

I would recommend doing Artaeum until you can do purples, then go around and do every zone. Just easier to do it that way for me rather than trying to figure out which ones I need to go back to do the purples.

Ive discovered a mechanic that no one knows from what i can tell. So the trowel disarms the traps but.....but....get each trap on the same layer, so lets say lowest level with a trap is lvl 6, so brush the rest down to level 6 and then brush a path between all of them at level 6 then when you trowel one of the traps it will clear everything along the path down to the floor. This is how i find most of my bonus items as a lot of the time they are near traps.

It got nerfed I was hitting 75-80k frags in open world and 80-90k frags in trials

I managed to reach level 10 in roughly 12 hours playtime (3 days), it may seem tedious but once you get the hang of it it basically becomes like crafting daily writs with the added bonus of getting to extensively explore every zone in the game. On top of the money and leveling I also came across something like 50 skyshards without even having to search for them. Overall, I think scrying/excavation is by far the most profitable grind. Without putting too much work into it, you can easily do it in less than a week.

I did not get the part how "not to use intuition" because my shovels always use it. Do I need 2/2 heavy shovel to do that? And I've seen people using those fissures to excavate good amount of dirt with chain reaction, I thought we do it with the shovel but shovel removes the fissures. That is not what I want. My next guess will be the brushing is the way of the chain reaction. Since you didn't use the fissures for your own gain, I can't call this was "advanced guide" but I give a like since this is the best guide I've come across so far.

Okay I'm level 10 and have all abilities unlocked but still run out of time Everytime I do ultimates or master ones. I've successfully dug up maybe 10 gold's. But I just got the lead for the moon mirror in reapers march and I have really been wanting that since I started playing last Aug. Any tips or tricks at all on doin those leads??

It’s not really a timer, it’s the amount of moves you have left. You can sit there forever and it doesn’t time out.

Thanks for the tips! I don't know if it is the same as Xbox but after you find the antiquity, the fissure will not destroy the already found antiquity or loot. Also loot does not get destroyed by over digging with the shovel. So after I get the antiquity, I don't care about the fissure and always use the shovel even on the last layer of soil to save time.

I can't seem to do these, all of a sudden. After reaching level 8, I fail every time over 30 attempts at the same one. I don't ever have enough time, and fail no matter what I try. Must be a terrible mental block because I was sailing along for the first 7 levels. Now, I am lost and seem like a rank amateur when I try to get one done. Weird. Wish I had a clue what I'm doing wrong because I am about to throw my controller.

I know this is a long shot but I have a friend who plays ESO with me on PC and he keeps getting logged out every 30min or so from the game with no error message it just takes him to the log in screen and that’s it. His PC is nearly identical to mine and I’ve never had that issue. He has a stable internet connection too (400mbps package from his IPS plus a WiFi booster). We tried multiple old solutions found in past forums but still no change. Oh and Zenimax has been 0 help through this process after he submitted his ticket he went through the same steps he already had to try to fix this issue. Any suggestions would help rn :)

Idk if you got it fixed or not. But that is most likely a driver issue. If you use something like driverbooster it will download over the existing files. You have to go to the graphics card manufacture and download directly from them. But don't just download with default settings.. Download under advanced then make sure you click the option the remove all existing driver files ( it's different for everydriver, just read the description of the check boxes). -a computer engineer
