Quick Question why not use fragmented shield over igneous shield? Because on a tank you dont really need that high of a shield. Plus 4.5 sec major mending is great. Like to here your opinion.

Also, for tanking Range adds, you can also LoS (Line of Sight) them by simply going around a corner or pillar (or something along those lines) and force them to move to you or a more manageable position... of course if you're able to do so.

If your resists are capped without Unstoppable, do you still need the Major Ward and Major Resolve buff?

On PS4 the heavy armor skill line active ability starts as Unstoppable and looks like neither morphs provide the bonus you outline. Nerfed? Any advice on what to choose? One of the choices is Immovable, but with full heavy set movement speed is essentially zero. I'm snagging that because it does increase blocking amount. Just introduces a mechanic that makes it harder to avoid damage.

Im running a bow on the back bar. ((flexing out the vampire for volley.)) my reasoning? well ice staff applies minor main, which we have elsewere, we have talons so no need for the chilled. why no lighting staff? because healers and a few other mags will have a lighting staff, and we have talons. why bow? well volley last longer than wall of elements. and it ticks faster, meaning faster procs. either as a crusher enchant. or any fancy poisons. ((also long range stamina regen on bosses that sometimes blink/move around/leap))

I play on xbox and it does not allow me to have 2 leeching shields equipped at the same time. Should I just get the yolah snb and replace those with 2 leeching body is that ok as well?

you can have two leeching shields but not two unique ones from the quest, one will have to be dropped/looted

they are both completely different skills. Heroric slash is for ulti gain and minor maim. Immovable is for your major resistance buffs which you NEED unless it is being covered by a warden, Your choking talons already covers the minor maim and in aoe too

I did the quest on my main and an alt and got 2 Grievous Leeching Ward Shields. Loaded one then the other and it was fine. Then proceeded to transfer them to my my main to improve them . I could only transfer one at a time because the message came up saying you can only have one in your bag. When i tried to transfer one back it keeps saying that i have one in my bag already and won';t let me take it. Its so annoying !! in your written notes you have 2 shields on the build is this something that has been banned ? Any help would be welcome

Just read the Grievous Leeching Ward notes and it states that this item is unique . Question is how did you make this build with 2 Leeching shields ? Is this a bug that only works on the PTS server ?

Why would a tank wear lightning staff? Wouldn't a frost staff make much more sense??

Lightning staff doesn't have block passives, you get caught out on that bar with some bosses you are dead. But, each to their own. I personally prefer not to do so...BUT that's not to say you "can't" do it. Just be careful and some adaptation will be required. The main thing is, in your group you currently have, is it NECESSARY for you to do so? THAT is when you decide ;)

Thanks so much for the guide! I've recently started playing ESO (switched from a few other MMO's) so I could play with my partner (who mains a magicka DPS sorc). I usually play the tanking role, and this game offers quite a unique tanking experience. Lot of new stuff to learn though, and you've been a -massive- help with that. I do have a few questions that I believe weren't answered in your video, but I apologize if I'm mistaken (though I've watched it like 10 times :P). 1. What exactly is the benefit of having shield discipline over spell shield? The only 1H&S abilities you use aren't spammed; I could only imagine its use in add pulls, but taunting in add pulls seems to be fairly situational insofar as you only taunt the most dangerous enemies. 2. What exactly is the benefit of having bone surge aside from the synergy? The synergy is certainly nice to have, but I imagine the damage shield doesn't stack with Igneous Shield, and I would imagine there being more benefits to slotting something like Sanguine Altar (or choking talons, but you've thankfully slotted that already ;) ). Otherwise I'd think of something like Deep Breath for the AoE interrupt, or whatever suits your fancy. Was bone surge intended as a flex slot (I mean, it -is- a great synergy), or is there something I'm missing? 3. While I realize the benefit of unstoppable, aren't the effects of hardened armour more beneficial, especially considering the 12% healing received passive to compensate for the shorter buff duration? Does the damage shield of hardened armour stack with igneous shield? I've been using unstoppable for quite a while now while levelling through the champion points, but I can't for the life of me decide which choice is more beneficial in a group context. 4. As far as flex slots go, how do you feel about Sanguine Altar, Balance and Deep Thoughts (the latter combined with the passive that reduces damage taken by 30%)? Again, apologies if any have been answered already, but I'm having difficulty finding answers to these questions online. Thanks again for all the guides; they've been a massive help. Im new so dont know all the answers, but as far as 2. Igneous and Bone DO stack, with 40k~ hp right now igneous gives 8620 and bone gives 12118, for a total of 20738 when activated together

Do have a guide to what skills we need to have as we level up, level 1-50? Are you recommending as soon as we open up the skills insert them into the available slots?

Rule of thumb would be to include 1 of each class skill line and 1 of each major weapon skill line (e.g., 1h/shield and destro staff for a tank) on each bar - that leaves 1 other flex spot on each bar. This way you will level up all of those important skill lines no matter which bar you are using. The skills you place on the bars would depend on how you are leveling (solo vs. grouping, etc.). If you find yourself needing to level certain skills for the future (e.g., for vet dungeons and trials) that aren't really needed in normal dungeons or while soloing (a good example would be Absorb Magicka in the case of a tank - really not needed until harder dungeon content) then you could pick up an addon like AlphaGear2 or Dressing Room and set up a "skills to level bar" that you can switch to before turning in quests for xp. It's also a good idea to wear 5 pieces of your primary armor type (e.g., heavy for a tank) and 1 of each other type in order to level up all of the armor lines.

Run Heroic Slash instead. No way to replace Mist, but the heroism from Heroic will get you decent ulti regen similar to Drain. Also gives single target maim so you don't have to use Talons on a boss.

My main is a tank. In hindsight, I wish I would have picked a damage dealer first as some content is difficult to solo with a tank (just takes longer). I'm very happy I have my tank but it was slower leveling as a result.

Same as kevboutin, this is my main. It just takes forever to solo quests. Was thinking of collecting a different armor set and swapping skills around to change it in to a slightly more DPS character for my solo questing.

pretty much already answered, not designed for solo but you can stretch your stamina attributes and put on a two hander for questing :)

I run pretty much this.. if you go back to the beginning of when xynode made this build, he pretty much breaks down everything, you'll deffo need the leaching set, but I think the helmet and shoulders you can run the pirate skeleton, and in all fairness you can play how you want to if you wana do abit more damage then you can use two handed.. but if you want to be insanely hard to kill then sword and board is the way forward!.

He’s running “immovable” the heavy armor skill which costs stamina instead of magicka and also gives you the same ‘major’ buff to your armor which doesn’t not stack with the same ‘major buff’ that hardened armor gives you. The morph for immovable also gives you brief immunizations to snares and immobilizations which helps for tanking tons.

Not sure if it was explained to you yet. If it's the shield you got from the quest, grievous leeching ward I think its called. It's a unique item and you can only have 1. Gotta farm for a regular leeching shield. I found that out the hard way too :(

throvokun/leeching are the primary for my tankro. running a breton for that sweet magika regen cuz i havnt seen that many tank magika skills since templar. ((atm im running alkosh for the weapon set. but would look forward to an alternative debuffing armor set that has a bit more tanky stats too it))

He said in the video, for this specific build it's Imperial, Nord, and Orc. Imperial has best sustain, nord has slightly faster ultimate gen and resists, orc will have slightly better damage and healing. Just look at what their passive are, it's pretty easy to tell what race is best at what. Argonian has the potion stuff and more magicka, but as far as I can see that's not as important in this builds case. You just have to tweak the cp a bit depending on what you go with.
