I watched this video before building my first tank. Helped a ton! Leeching has saved my life so many times when the whole group dies and I need to stay alive with tons of adds on me while reviving. I am currently using Leeching, Imperium, and Infernal Guardian. Since I pretty much spam damage shields, IG is constantly spewing out fire. And since it targets the farthest enemy, it's great for spotting adds that need to be pulled in - and it aggros casters and archers. My teammates just called me a god last night with this build! Thanks for these videos :)

Is it possible to run ice/lightning staff on the back to proc crusher with elemental blockade to output more dps or is the benefit miniscule. Shouldn't you switch to one of these staves instead of sticking with a sword and shield ?

Lots of people have their own odeas of what tanks should or shouldnt wear but they arent the tank. So if you like leeching, then wear leeching. Its one of my fav sets for my tank.

Utility builds like ur tank here, have all it needs to master eso from A-Z solo in pve & pvp is so well seen to save out there buddy's with boneshield, tha stampool is a bit low like burst Potential, but this he simply out-stand with most bulk, by mocking n observing ur Opponents how they All die first because of you, & so at the end earns all APs collected from groups in zergs. Love it man:) anoying High DD builds vs ur wall

Although he’s on on PTS for these build videos, the only addon he runs is Combat Metrics. The buff/debuff indicators are available on both PC and console without addons. On console, go to your Options, then Combat. Scroll down and turn those bad boys on. Keep in mind that those indicators, though helpful, are a little bit of a drain on performance if you’re running a “regular” (non-pro) PS4 or Xbox One (not Xbox One X). FYI.

Leeching is not new. As for swapping in Plague Doctor, knock yourself out. However, Xy explains very carefully why he chooses the sets he chooses, so your mileage may vary.

tbh i have been running this build since orc and argon makes a good tank with xys build as argon i managed to solo most normal content just coz of its racial passives and once u get leeching plate set man them heals basically make u unstoppable in health gen, just went imperial 2 try it out and see if i like it and vDun & vTrials are a breeze tho i will say vSS was prob the hardest as i ran EDON set it works but main ult was used on every breath attack just 2 survive lol, all in all best tank build i have ever played regardless the updates still crazy OP tank build

it doesn't ONLY come from the quest, the quest is a named one yes, but the set can drop regular shields also from adds, chests, and the last boss.

Great build for end game and there’s a lot here that can be carried over to other builds, such as the “secret” poison ability. I want to try it, but I play as either a DD or healer, and don’t have the tactical skills to tank. So, how do I start, and how best to practice and so build up to end game? Is there a video that addresses the basics in starting out as a tank?

Its just knowing boss fights really. Learn the bosses abilities, and then learn how to position bosses so the group takes the least amount of dmg.

Use alpha gear and carry dps sets and skills You can pull 15k dps which is good for questing No need for respecs eithers

This build is great especially for tanking bosses but I feel it has issues getting aggro on trash groups. Briefly rooting a few in a mob of 10+ isn't really enough. I'd like to see more real world action instead of soloing HRC.

@Inquisitorius I will and my question is more a general tank question I guess. I'm referring to dungeon encounters with many targets. I'd typically slam blockade going into a group, then root. What didn't root would usually come to me due to the blockage. Very few targets would go to the dps but I could chain those. Using this build, I run in and root only to see several mods run straight to the dps. I have a harder time chaining everything in. I'm sure I'm just not doing it right as I've only been taking a few months.

Well, to be fair, “mobs” are in fact the DPS’s job to handle in this game. That’s part of the reason why the devs have consistently refused to add an AOE taunt. If your deeps can’t handle mobs by killing them quickly enough through AOE damage, your deeps quite frankly are badly spec’d. In ESO, the tank is intended to grab priority targets and hold them still - and DPS is intended to take care of the trash. Especially with the adjustments the devs made this patch. AOE “cleave” damage from single-target focused DPS was adjusted down a lot. The devs intend for there to be DPS that are AOE-focused and not just run single-target focus. This tank, along with at least one deeps like the Easy Sorc, absolutely melt the world. Mobs don’t stay alive long enough to be a problem.

Never said otherwise, bro. I said the tank doesn’t need to be *babysat* by a healer because he’s squished himself down by putting a DPS set on and using a Lightning staff back bar which eliminates any block mitigation at all on that bar, requiring a healer to put Guard on the tank to keep the barely-more-sturdy-than-a-DPS dude alive. Healers need to heal, and that means they need to heal tanks too. But *this* tank doesn’t need to have a healer basically half-tank for the tank.

Mike Macon by not running a staff you hurt group dps, that and running a bow are the only ways to have a crusher enchant at full strength, go check out a real endgame pc player, NefasQS 😉
