I'm just returning to ESO after a long break. Wasn't able to play a lot or get expansions due to not being able to afford back then. Glad I'm getting back into it!

Amanda's voice is magnificent for the video narration. The text overlay makes everything easier to understand whats coming. The one on one interaction that The Fox Den has had with Zos in the direction of ESO sounds very promising since they are both smart 🤓 people who ask down to earth questions ❓. Y'all did a great Job 👍 Keep being great ambassadors for this game. 🐨

What they should have done is left the initial play being you have to finish you initial faction quest line, beat the boss, then open it up to the one Tamriel play, that way they can do more brutal overland but still have an easy way to ease new players into the game
@the_fox_den10 ай бұрын
Definitely an interesting perspective. I think where you might get hung up is for anyone that joins the game looking to jump right into the newest content, getting locked behind completing their faction quest line first might be a turn off. Definitely an idea to balance and give a little bit to both sides though!
@Killingblaze10 ай бұрын
@@the_fox_den I agree that could happen to some, but more often then not in global chat people are doing the newest content without any context and looking for a lore explanation of the basics that are covered in that main storyline although I do like the way they have the cold harbor into quest now, feels more like how it would have happened instead of just suddenly being there with no real explanation.

For all the criticisms I have of ESO, the scribing looks promising because it finally fixes the fantasy limiting way the weapon skill lines and class skills worked. Being able to use a dark or necromancy colored fire staff sounds great.

Yea, we're being optimistically cautious! It seems like a really awesome system, just hoping they get the balancing right on it because that's definitely the tricky part here.

Well the game needs some kind of new systems. they better hope it's enough. cause March i see many people leaving ESO for games like Dragon dogma 2.
@the_fox_den10 ай бұрын
I'm sure a lot of ESO players will definitely give Dogma a try, but it's still a single player game. It probably fits better in a category with Elden Ring and such. ESO being an MMO I think still scratches a different itch for players.

I wish ESO didnt have such atrocious combat, I'd actually love to play it.
@the_fox_den11 ай бұрын
I'm sorry to hear that, out of curiosity what displeases you about the combat in particular?
@prophetscott10 ай бұрын
@@the_fox_dencombat doesnt feel weighted and impactful. And I think strict class restriction and design is very much an mmorpg idea, but very limited in terms of an elder scrolls game. Also, weapon skills have been lacking for years. More weapon variations and staff variations could've made the game more interesting. The combat is also the main reason for me that ESO fails to hook me for long. Combine that with the predatory microtransactions and creating inconveniences to sell the solution, I really tried to love eso because I'm a huge fan of the elder scrolls universe, but Zenimax makes it really hard for me to love the game.

ESO literally has the best combat of any MMO. That’s one of the biggest reasons ESO is popular. It is skill based though unlike a lot of tap target MMO’s. So if you suck or don’t put in the work then I understand it could be pretty frustrating
@prophetscott10 ай бұрын
@@Sniperjones_007 That might be your opinion. I will have to disagree. I think fundamentally wow and guild wars 2 have better combat systems. Granted, mmorpgs's in general dont have great combat when compared to some of the single player rpgs small coop games these days. ESO in particular could've set itself apart with its combat, and while thematically ESO's classes are well designed, I think they missed the opportunity of having true Elder Scrolls build variety without being stuck in a class. And also, its a fact that the animations, the weird death and hit animations of enemies feels too weightless. And the weapon skills has been a limiting factor for a long time. No wands, no 1h magic with swords, other weapons have been requested for a long time but zenimax completely ignores its community and has a very distant dev team. And with the limiting 5 skills per tree not every Elder Scrolls fantasy can be fulfilled in the game. I would've rather seen them add spellcrafting, magic rune + 1h skillline, spears, halberds, crossbows, etc, more free, open skill lines with actual useful skills that would totally break the meta so people can have fun, instead of what it is now. With 25k players on per day max, while its losing active players monthly, the game really isn't as popular as you think. On player activity sites it ranks between 11 and 15 under the mmo tag.

@@prophetscott ESO combat being more dynamic and skill based and not tap target like other MMO’s is my opinion? Wow, I can taste the salt from here. You can argue other have better PVE but PVP is fantastic in ESO and they haven’t even came out with an update for it since 2017. How is BDO’s PvP? What about Final Fantasy 14? Virtually non existent and trash from what I’ve heard. Every game will slowly lose a player base but ESO is doing a lot better numbers wise that you just stated. Idk where you got your numbers from (probably out your arse) but ESO has around 3.8 million active players every month. Anywhere from 150k-200k active players per day. And it’s only gotten better. This game is miles ahead of where it was at launch. Other games can have their gimmicks and pay to win bs that crutches you into having to be roped into premium membership services. But the game is basically free. You can grab it for $10 when it’s on sale. No subscription required. Again, if you don’t like the combat it’s most likely you not being good, wanting to learn and being triggered you can’t just point and click.
