This has been my build for a good while now. I actually told a bunch of vet players about having the greatsword on the front bar as a magicka player. I also told those players not to tell too many people so it doesnt get patched.

On PC it got outdated post clockwork city. Something console players don't have to deal with is consistent pressure from staff light attacks. Though I suspect that might change when they recently swapped any weapon light attack to use your highest stat. But either way, where other classes actually got buffs or zero removal of core DMG, Templar did due to the ability standardization.

I love it when people say sorcs are carried by overload and streak as if it takes no skill to do anything if you’re running streak or overload. As a sorc main I can honestly say that those skills have their drawbacks and it still takes skills to be a good sorc. Love the video though... makes me wanna try out a magplar! 💛

In solo play yes, it definitely takes some skill to utilize those tools effectively. It's when you need to use them to effectively outnumber one player that it becomes sad. Anyone trying to solo on a sorc this patch has massive cajones, and I respect that lol

The setup I am using over currently is Etern Vigor, Engine Guardian, Willpower weapons, 1 willpower jewelry, 1 trainee jewelry, and malacath. The sustain is better. The damage is lower. Basically a pick your poison kind of deal here

I have all my stuff golded out. 4206 spell damage, 10758 spell pen. numbers look good but i dont have the healing like u do. khajiit is what i have. Honor dead. 13397, rapid regen is 24012, and ext ritual 2868. degen is 17318, top charge 6840, solar barrage, 2454, radiant glory, 11169, and punc sweep is 4148. cresc sweep is 10690. some numbers just seem off. Thank you very much for this build, it is a very fun build to play PvP with and I've seen a significant increase in healing and damage using this build as opposed to what I was previously running. I play in the no-CP campaign so I've changed some things about my build compared to what you're doing in this video, such as keeping a magicka recovery glyph on one of the pieces of jewelry, I also use Arcane jewelry simply because for now I don't wanna transmute it to infused and I guess in no-CP you also lose out on the flat magicka bonus compared to CP enabled campaigns. I've also opted to go with Grothdarr as a monster set rather than using Malacath's Band of Brutality for now, simply because I've not gotten all the leads for that yet, but considering the PvP tests they're doing on this game, they seem to be going in a direction where they want to remove proc sets, so Grothdarr won't be viable anymore after that whereas Malacath's Band probably will be. In no-CP I've also changed 3 of the well-fitted traits with Impenetrable instead because I can't use CP to give me critical resistance so it has to go on the gear instead. Aside from that, on my front bar I have slotted the Mages Guild Ultimate "Ice Comet", I find it to be very good for stunning people to get a good amount of burst damage on them, considering it stuns them and also snares them, slotting it also helps with getting a higher magicka pool due to the Mages Guild passives. Sneaky Nightblades have also made me swap Degeneration for "Inner Light" but that also works out well for no-CP considering slotting that also gives you 5% more magicka. When the campaign has been dead I've been able to solo keeps and outposts with this build but I changed the Greatsword to a lightning staff to do that and slotted the Destruction Staff ultimate "Elemental Rage" due to its massive AoE damage that will annihilate the AI. All in all though, you've helped me go from someone who got melted when I ran other builds to being able to hold my own and people in the campaign have a hard time killing me without help from their teammates, unless of course they're a Nightblade gank build hahaha. I hope this works out in Flames of Ambition because it's lots of fun to play right now, so thank you for the build :)

I actually run malacaths trollking/skoria ( what ever I'm feeling that day) cyrodils crest on back bar with spinners front. Was gonna swap cyrodills for eternal but I love the big ass heal on demand for free. Also run 2hander aswell so happy to see that and icestaff back bar. Fun as fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck build and no one expects so much damage from heavy armor magplar with a 2hr

You should try Olorime back bar with Stuhn front bar (you need it to run 5 heavies. The major courage bonus compensate for the penetration not boosting your healing). It would allow you to put Engine Guardian in replacement for Eternal Vigor and run 3 swift without loosing any damage or heal. This setup is super fun to play 👌 And if you really want to use Eternal vigor, you can sacrifice EG and Stuhn and use Willpower on front bar instead.

This video and your approach to the class reminded me that i should purely focus on and play whatever i like, and i really like the idea of a templar. I dont do cyro however, only BGs. How would you adjust the build for non CP bro? Would switching out 1 jewlery piece to tri recovery or mag regen be enough?

I use the light and heavy attacks, yes. On the two hander I use light attack weaves at all times. Not just for the extra damage of the light attacks, but also to proc my weapon/spell damage enchantment to boost my overall damage. I use the heavy attacks to give mys of more stamina when I need it, as well to proc the "Follow Up" passive in the 2H skill line. Meaning that after a fully charged heavy attack, the damage of my next attack will be boosted by 10%. Hope it helps :)

If I play group I typically swap to SnB with Lightening Staff. Being Tanker is more helpful in a group. But the sets are all still the same.

I am fully buffing my spell damage here. Enchantment from weapon, major sorcery, and minor sorcery. I'm also using a 2h which has naturally higher spell damage. Also dark elf gives spell damage. Spell damage Mundus. And all infused jewelry is a massive boost as well

Red tree you could put more points into healing and resistances, but you wouldn't be able to roll anywhere near as much, and your stam sustain would seriously tank due to it. But it's doable.

So when making a build for magplar is being in heavy armor better than light? I know it’s kind of a preference thing. But should I be trying to find ways to make me tanky in light armor or is it better to find ways to do damage while in heavy..?

Damage is pretty innate on magplar, especially with Malacath, so in the end you aren't really gaining anything from light armor except for a 10% ish damage boost. I know that sounds like a lot, but it's really not necessary when you can already deal so much in heavy, and come out with a lot of other benefits. However, to be tanky in light armor, you have to sacrifice damage to begin with, so you may end up doing just as much, or even less damage than a heavy counterpart. In my opinion, there is no benefit to playing light armor for Magplars this patch, but that's just my own personal opinion.

@@byrospyro4432 Light attacks require no Stamina or Magicka. The damage of light attacks, regardless of weapon type, scales based on your highest offensive stats. Prior to Update 28, the damage of light attacks scaled based on your Maximum Stamina and Weapon Damage, or Maximum Magicka and Spell Damage for staves. I've really struggled to love Magplar, recently. Largely because I am just not that great at pvp and I really don't play it enough. Trying to get back into pvp on a more regular basis with my old Magplar. Would a set up like this be decent for solo play? The closest I ever get to grouping is when I type lfg in chat lol.

Quick question man I enjoy your gameplay.I kinda have the build but I’m at 415cp and I have been trying to understand where to put my cp. I have a even playing field in cyro but there are just some moments where cp matters and literally frustrating but I understand. Got any tips?

The most important CP are the % based damage mitigation ones. Don't even bother with anything else in the red tree until you have the Hardy, Elemental Defender, and .... Whichever the one is that mitigates direct damage, up to where they should be. Same goes for your damage. The two primary CP there are Mighty and the direct damage one

Just throw on some extra tri glyphs to your armor, I'd say at least your three big pieces, and you should be good to go 👍

Would this work at 380 cp and I also don't have malacath I have greymoor tho is it worth grinding for malacath and other mythic and if so what could I put in malacath place for the now and time being till I get it

Malacath is definitely worth the grind! But, since you don't have it, check out the video from 12:25 onwards. I talk about options for non malacath setups :)
