ESO - New update changes Nightblades FOREVER!

The Nightblade Class in The Elder Scrolls online is renown for being one of the most desirable because of it's stealthy design but equally one of the hardest to get to grips with for new players. This is MOSTLY down to one skill. Grim focus is such a fiddle skill to micro manage and understand for new players, that most simply don't use it OR use it incorrectly. Having a buff a skill for a period of time, then stack light attacks of heavy attacks to get a set amount of stacks, THEN take advantage of a completely different skill it CHANGES to, is a little overwhelming for most people.
Over time players have gotten better with this skill but it is still very tricky to micro manage with buff up times and down times leading to blank moments of dps having to constantly RE-buff instead of simply smashing the enemy to bits.
Well not any more!!! That skill has been made 10x easier because NOW you NEVER have to cast it! Along with this, the tool tip has been updated to make more sense, and one more FINAL thing to seal the deal for the Nightblade...

I've played alot of NB and honestly I'm so glad their changing this, reapplying RF always feels like a proper deadzone of your damage and removing the need to reapply as well as the more obvious cue for when it's ready will only make it better for all players using it.

I'm considering firing the bow now, rather than just leaving the buff running. Xynode did you get a chance to try this on your NB builds yet (magblade) to see if dps has been boosted when firing the bow.....

Evening all, I’m a returning player after roughly 12 months. I used to main a magsorc but think it’s time to change. I’ve wanted to try either a magblade or stamblade, all PvE content and maybe into trials. Which build would be more viable for some solo/4 man dungeon style ?

Between this and the sorc changes, it looks like that they are trying to balance out the Broaken Soul ring. So you can bet they will fix the ability to slot buff on the back bar with Broaken Soul equipped.

@@MrJeden 12 seconds that you can kite around a corrosive dk is easy. Been doing it easy on my brand new arcanist that I've barely been playing for 2 weeks. But nbs can spam 16k-20k assasins will every few seconds

@@nelson_rebel3907 i have 25k pen and 70 crit dmg.. full burst i can do maybe 60% of a good dks bar with full Balorgh ulti. Then they heal to full with 1 heal. Theeen if they catch me, im dead in 2sec.. unkillable

i see this as a nerf of skill for players that dont know how to play as a nightblade. All these players that power level and dont learn their class, who dont take the time to read what an ability does and only slot it because some voice on youtube tell them to. Not knocking the theory builders but I am knocking the players that just add abilities without really learning what the ability is. Learn your class, learn your abilities and this wounldnt be an issue.

The whole back-bar thing was basically ZOS being too lazy to create a normal PC-UI, instead they exported the console-UI 1on1 to the PC.... I don´t know of any players that are really fan of it. With oakensoul and all those back-bar buffs they started moving away from bar-swapping.... but in the end it is just bad game design and not really a solution. Same with only local traders/markets in eso- instead of fixing it every player is using ttc etc to get a global market in a mmo. Cyro and to some extent also the new arcanist class are copied from daoc. PvP seems broken in eso and doesn´t get any love even though the game started as pvp focused game. The pvp fights are based on action-reaction, which broke with animation cancelling- which was neither fixed nor implemented in the game design and balancing. The NB in eso feels to me like a griefer class. Unlike other mmos with stealth classes eso lacks a timer. For example, when you leave stealth and enter fighting in other mmos a timer starts counting down. During these few seconds you can not go back into stealth. Eso doesn´t have that, so people can constantly jump in and out of stealth. 90% of the in-game skills require a target. You can´t just fire into empty space in this game. That means that most direct attacks stop working as soon as someone enters stealth. Potions are basicially skills. To counter someone jumping into stealth you would get a 45(?) second cooldown time and wouldn´t be able to use healing potions etc... That is in no way a balanced trade. Then there are the anti-steal skills... they have limited range and cost alot. There are no skills against NBs using a bow skill, stealth, bow skill stealth etc.... Before you could go near them they would instantlyy run away in stealth. As if that isn´t enough NBs also get really high dmg bonuses, even without backbar buffs. In other games you get high dmg, but never that high. You also have requirements- like attacking from the side with attack A, from behind with attack B etc - there is no such thing in eso. The game-design/balancing is bad/broken. I have been playing (pvp) mmos for 20+ years, eso since around 2015 or so - but to me eso is the worst balanced/worst fighting design I have seen so far. The whole game has not really different classes with much different gameplay/experiences. The playstyle feels simliar. For whatever reason the dungeon-finder needs 3 different classes though, so people are required to play as fake tanks/fake healer to speed the queue up... The lack of real classes/different playstyles/roles also shows in trials and pvp. Trials and PvP are just chaos. You have to know the mechanics but no real tacticts happen. In general people don´t really interact much with each others, be it in fights or chats. Anyway... I find those small changes laughable considering all the problems eso has. Don´t make one buffing skill work from the back-bar, just make ALL buffs work from the backbar, maybe even remove the timer for buffs..... That would be some changes. Not his crap. Hell, even changing the color of the gear often doesn´t work in eso (getting different colors than applied) and the game has more bugs than any early release or beta games I have played so far. Meanwhile the devs celebrate themselves for their great work, for example during all the server crashes after the Necrom release. They sell ingame-houses for 100+ dollars, changing the looks of the character once costs 10+ dollars, they sell small chapers for AAA game prices and make the inventory on purpose small and the stacking bad so that you are forced to pay for subscription if you want any normal gameplay experience... just, rofl. The devs seem disconnected from the game and I don´t see eso outliving the next generation of mmos for long (ashes of creation etc).

As a brawler blade main, I feel the change to bow proc is unnecessary... makes the class easier to play which I don't like, if you can't keep your bow proc up 24/7 that's a skill issue and you should be at a disadvantage for not properly keeping your skills ready, only an opinion but yeah not a fan

while i agree it does make the class a bit more accessible, i’ve mained my stamblade the entire time i’ve played this game. i’ve gotten up to 110k parse, and can confidently say this is a great quality of life update for us. it really isn’t going to change damage output dramatically. i can benefit from it because there’s times where im going through the motions in content and accidentally rebuffed instead of proccing. yeah, you can say not proccing it perfectly every time is a skill issue, too, but everybody has moments now and then where they slip up on the proc. i’m confident many other NB players have came across this example, as well. also just my opinion
