Hardened ward now heals, encase has aoe major maim and either restrains or gives aoe group heal and daedric refuge gives shields to the group. Can't wait to make one! My solo build manages health very well with critical surge and hardened ward, so gonna try dropping the pet and see how it goes

I have a Breton sorcerer that I love and use for all 3 roles. I did switch from atronach to lady mundus stone though and had to fiddle with the enchants to get the right numbers. 😅

Almost never, the only reason to use it is when you're using Nunatak and you don't want to proc it on the wrong target since Destructive Clench deals frost damage. Also Inner Beast morph can be used whenever you're going for dps on a tank

What are the advantages of using dark deal vs heavy attacking for stamina sustain? I know it has advantages, but it also cost magicka. Should you utilize both dark deal and heavy attacks in boss fights, or can it just replace heavy attacks?

You can use Dark Deal when there's no target to hit and it also heals you, you should be utilizing both

I am in love with tanking and with sorcerer, really curious about 2 things however: - why use pulsar? Minor Mangle seems to be applied very commonly in groups - ice staff seems to be the go-to backbar stick, but what are your thoughts on using a lightning staff instead? Would i be hurting my build? Lightning just looks cooler

Pulsar is used to proc Chilled, the minor mangle is negligible in PvE. The only thing lightning staff provides is Minor Vulnerability with Wall of Elements. Sometimes it's useful, but you'd be losing the defensiveness and utility of an ice staff.

Thought i should mention that for Vet Trials specifically,unless youre running with a group of accepting friends, it can be the case that the leader will drop you for a DKTank once theyre available, because everyone loves DK tanks, same applies to other classes, except maybe necro in certain cases. This is quite sad but it is what it is. I main SorcTank and when in craglorn I've been dropped by PUGs quite a few times, and when i ask why its always the same reason, DKTank is available. Starting to get tired of this

Are there hardmode trials you cant do with a sorc tank?

I haven't seen anyone do DSR hard mode with a Sorc tank but I think it's possible, it's just that DK and Necro are better at it and groups going for DSR HM are min-maxing so they'll always choose the slightly better option

I've done planesbreaker as Sorc-Offtank and am currently progressing for Swashbuckler on it as well, having cleared the DSR hardmode several times. Especially in DSR ball of lightning is actually quite useful to quickly stack mages on second boss and for quick trash pulls (prestacking, levers). So you can do all hms without a problem if you find a group. I don't even think it's much worse than having a necro. ~Marcelovski

I have a question, for the setups shown in the excel sheet, the build with one light, one meduim and the rest heavy, were you able to reach armor cap? I could only reach 32k armor resistance with that build. Are your traits on your weapons different? Just curious, maybe im doing something wrong but i have trouble reaching the armor cap, im also a nord just to clarify.

Yes I was reaching armor cap, you can change some Divines pieces to Nirnhoned if you're a bit short

Is it really worth using the destruction stuff ability because the frost affect only 3 seconds this is an honest question

It's 4 second of Minor Brittle (10% crit damage) and 5 seconds of Major Maim (10% reduced damage) so yes, it's worth it

I dont think so, in difficult fights you'll need the Clannfear so you wont be able to fit Matriarch, in easy fights your DDs wont need any additional heals

@@Hyperioxes I tried it in vDSA and noticed exactly what you are saying. It didn’t perform nearly as well as i thought it would. It made self healing a bit sketchy since It doesn’t heal as much as clanfear

I don't think playing with one bar on a tank makes it any easier, you still have to provide Crusher so you'd be forced to play with only ice staff and no sword and board, you wouldn't be able to fit in Puncturing Remedy, you'd simply have less tools to respond with to stuff happening during fights
