My older cousin is only 33 and was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer back in June. Today they told him he only has a few days left and it’s November. He has two young boys and a wife.. this is so sad for my family. 😢 i hate this disease! We need cures!

Very informative, thank you for the video. My mom died from complications due to gastresophageal cancer 10 years ago. She exhibited the first 2 symptoms, dysphagia and weight loss, but the cancer was found relatively early because she was having her gallbladder removed and the doctor's noticed that something wasn't right. She was diagnosed at 49, almost 50, and passed away 18 months later.

Hello Hillary , I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was so young. Did your mother start with Gerd or Acid Reflux ( which is the same ) ????? I have GERD and Erosion Esophagus and I am trying my best to found out , if I can avoid *Barrett's Esophagus Disease if I have Erosive Esophagitis?? I really need the true answer to these questions. I had like 5 things going on at the same time, woke up from 4 AM , March 25, 2020. Gall Bladder , Gall Stones, Gastritis , Erosion Esophagus and one other thing. I am still dealing with this Gastritis , Erosion Espohagus. I had my gall bladder and stones taken out.

Definitely worth going to more than one doctor for initial diagnosis not that they're incompetent or anything but some have had more experience with some illnesses than others, there's so much to look for.

My son was diagnosed at 30 years old with this and passed away 7 months later. This is a truly horrible disease. He had no signs until one day he was having a hard time swallowing. Was diagnosed Dec 31, 2019 with stage 4.

Unfortunately by the time these symptoms occur you're already in the 80% death rate, aside from gerd which doctors prescribe proton pump inhibitors and call you crazy. My dad died five months after "trouble swallowing" 🙄 and was past the point of surgery being an option

I have almost all of these symptoms D: even the anemia and one other symptom I didn't hear mentioned but I wonder if it is related, chronic hiccups. All of this got so bad the last few weeks. I can't believe how fast it has worsened. I'm not a smoker or drinker but I have bile reflux from having my gallbladder removed, and I have GERD AND I have a hiatal hernia. On top of it all I have an autonomic disorder, which makes my digestion not work properly, as well as many other autonomic stuff. The worse part is feeling like my throat has a whole thanksgiving meal stuck in it, even if I only eat a few bites of food. I'm on the dreaded 3 week wait til I can get into the stomach guy. Gonna be a looooooong 3 weeks. I survived kidney failure, as well as survived a hospitalized version of Delta. I thought I was in the clear. Now this. I guess, just like appliances, after a certain date, everything starts to break down.

I have not been able to go get a scope done yet because I took a very bad fall down the stairs, collapsed a lung and had a long recovery that took precidence, as well as having adult children with serious health problems. So I have been trying to care for them. The issue couldn't possibly been what I feared or I would have been much sicker by now. I still have the symptoms, only now I also just rarely get hungry. I feel sick to my stomach all the time and practically live on nauseau meds. I have pretty severe iron deficiency anemia, which I really don't know the source. How are you doing? I have all these symptoms but I have a huge hiatal hernia. They said my entire stomach is in the hernia but I'm thinking now it's cancer because this video is me especially lately with bleeding and regurgitating and aspiration. I don't have weight loss and trouble swallowing comes and goes. The Drs don't care at the ER if you don't have covid they just want to send you home.

They closed the only 2 ERS here due to the covid crisis they went under financially. I have so many symptoms now and whatever is wrong just gets worse. I lost my daughter years back and recently my brother who was my rock. I just let things go . Noone really understands but this is the way it is. Sorry I just now saw these replies. I can tell you I don’t have esophageal cancer. I do have a problem with my esophagus however. The sphincter leading into my stomach works just fine, however my Esophagus basically has no muscle tone. It’s bad enough that even water can get stuck. I found that out when I had an esophageal manometry done. That procedure sucks. Doctors have no idea why or what is going on with it.

@@zbritishteaman thanks. I’m going to have to be annoying and call the department for the doctors I need because The doctor I used to have is not working with my health insurance anymore. I didn’t find out till I was on the phone on Thursday. I guess my insurance didn’t let me know in an accessible format. I have to tell what’s going on to a new doctor. That stresses me out because I am extra vulnerable. I am blind. I’m guessing the health insurance send a message to my account or something on the website they have or send it in snail mail. They could’ve sent an automated voicemail. If you’re wondering how I am typing, I use speech to text. Apple has something called dictation. Dictation is available for sighted and blind people. Apple has a built-in Accesibility software thing called voiceover. It allows me to use my phone like a sighted person.

Don't think bringing strong acid from your stomach to your throat when your being sick exactly helps either, I drink milk afterwards alkaline counterbalancing acid and all that.

When it comes to dysphagia, is it possible to have a hard time swallowing even when not eating/drinking? I feel like something is stuck in my throat so even water feels like it's going down slower but even when I swallow nothing or saliva, it feels like there's a lump in my throat. It's really annoying.

@@gilbertotrevino7725 I know you were talking to the other person but I also went to the ENT and had LPR (basically acid reflux that reached my throat) which caused esophagitis which caused my dysphagia. After a month of eating veggie soup and other easy to swallow low acid foods, I'm basically back to normal.

So I have Barrets, and just had a vats procedure done last September and they told me I have gastritis the burning in my esophagus has been going on for two + years and I do smoke ( my bad ) , do not drink alcohol, but also have a bloated stomach and constant diarrhea with fast weight gain but how far off could I be from esophageal cancer starting ?

Why not put a G tube in the patient. They can prepare their own food and feed themselves via gtube. It should prevent the nutrition deficits.

Yes but not always. I had stage 4 with bilateral lymph node involved in 2017 came back in feb 2022 with no lymph node involvement . Was 2cm before pet scans would pick up on it! In august my scans were a false negative so my concerns were brushed off until February when finally it started to glow on pet

Hi , thanks for sharing, I hope things have been resolved and your both much better. Over this past year I've had ct scans and nothing , xrays and nothing, then a ct scan with contrast and finally Highlighted a mass in my lower right lung , I went for biopsies and the drugs just didn't knock me out , they made me the complete opposite, wide awake , the drs , I could hear them whispering and after a bit let them know to stop now lol they must have got a fright lol I was wide awake they had coverd my eyes but I could still see , and speak enough to tell them when to stop. Next day I had a petscan . Then next day I was to go into another hospital to knock me out with something else, when I arrived , the doctor came to tell me , they didn't need to do the biopsies as it had cleared , I thought WOzw, I've performed a miracle on myself, now that is miraculous. I really did start to feel better I was eating again , then boom its back. Which beggers the question, was it ever away in the first place or was that just said to keep people positive. Now my potassium levels are up and its 1 yest after another .. 1 dr says q thing another says something else, 5 drs in the mix. I started to read between the lines and read their body language (I'm in the UK) the influx of cancer is sureal.

Hello.. I had my surgery with my ovarian cyst.. And due to i cannot sleep that time, i was injected with diphenhydramine and I suddenly hard to breathe.. And I think triggers may acid reflux.. for some weeks, ive had pain when swallowing, and just recently its escalated worse with me finding a big distinct lump on my windpipe:-( Everyone around me that I tell seems to be really worried, every time saying that I need to tell them how it goes. I've been really excessively tired, and every day for past while has been a cycle of waking up feeling minor swallowing pain, by end of day its just always in pain and agony preventing me from sleeping. Painkillers help a little, but only a little. Nowhere online shows it like a cancer being a visible outside lump like I have? It's not a lymph node, I'm getting an ultrasound for it. Anyone experienced anything similar at all here?
