This is a great review. I wouldn’t have guessed it was a 50’s neck. I’m glad I found this out.

That’s a freaking nice demonstration which makes me really wanna get one of them. Btw I have E II Eclipse with thinner body, so it produces more treble; but this one sounds pretty close to Gibson Les Pauls. Amazing.
@EverydayGuitarist4 жыл бұрын
I appreciate it dude! It’s. A great guitar. Highly recommend it. I like the thin body E-IIs also, but these full thickness ones Just have something special

Is the neck shape of this thing comparable to the Gibson 60's neck ? Sound great. Amazing demo aswell showing all these styles of playing

i have a custom one that was made active not to bad vut i highley recomend 81 85 emgs passive if you get the chance just a much much more fuller sound

How thick is the neck profile? Compared to the Thin U of say, a Horizon or normal Eclipse? I love the neck on the normal ones but anything over the slim 50’s Gibson neck fatness is too chunky for me.
@EverydayGuitarist3 жыл бұрын
Thick. Way thicker than I expected. I’d say it’s in the realm of a thicker 50s Gibson neck.
@benj21013 жыл бұрын
Pretty good sound! Would like to hear it with thicker strings and slightly higher action. Bet it gets even better then
@EverydayGuitarist3 жыл бұрын
I play pretty thin strings, juts my preference! and yeah it definitely needed a set up!

How do you like the neck profile on that guitar ? Its mention Thin U on the spec

I love it, but it’s nothing like the traditional ESP U shape. It’s more like. 50s Les Paul shape. Very thick C/D it’s awesome but not a shredder.

Split coil hbs are always fun to jam on. It's pretty ironic that I prefer the spanky tones out of split pups over an actual single coil guitar.

They’re 1899 brand new. My rule is you have to be able to find it under 1000 used. I purchased this particular guitar for 925 off reverb

Great playing, really like your videos! I'm thinking about buying the same guitar but i worry if it stay's in tune well? I had les pauls in the past that kept going out of tune and I hope that's not the case with this guitar.
@EverydayGuitarist4 жыл бұрын
It has less neck angle than a normal Les Paul and the nut is cut exceptionally. I had no problems with tuning really.

I’ve watched this video so many times and just realized I didn’t give you a sub. Sorry about that. Thanks for not just going straight for the metal tone. I love metal, but I also just love music. I just ordered one of these guitars. Do you still have this one and if so what are your thoughts of it 2 years later. ESP guitars are great, I also have a les paul standard 50’s I’m hoping the neck is a bit thinner but not shred neck thin.

Thank fuck, a person who plays a variety of styles in their reviews, What a concept that everyone with many more views and subscribers really doesn't get. Good job man.

I appreciate. I figured if I’m gonna do this I’m gonna do my best to not just play blues licks and djentymcdjentdjent all the time. Hopefully I can keep it up.

Great video and killer guitar....This may sound dumb to some but I can't stand the E II logo on the headstock......If it's a ESP then that is what it should say on the headstock.
@ShredBird4 жыл бұрын
ESP wanted to go back to their roots as a custom shop and reserve "ESP" for guitars that follow that lineage and come out of their custom shop in Japan. So they rebranded "ESP Standard" guitars to "LTD Elite" (which didn't last long and confused customers) and so it got changed to "E-II". ESP, LTD, E-II, Edwards, doesn't matter, you can count on the fact you're getting a great guitar. Everyone loves ESP, even ESP, so much so they're hoarding their name for themselves and their finest guitars. I admit, the branding thing bothered me at first too, but after studying the reason behind it, I get it. E-II branding has grown on me!
@garyz06114 жыл бұрын
I understand that but to me when I spend that much money on a guitar I want it to say ESP on the headstock.

@@EverydayGuitarist Off topic but i read that John Suhr dislikes ebony and i'm starting to feel same way. It has very dry sound almost harsh comparing to rosewood. With gain his favourite is Paul Ferro and Alder.
@EverydayGuitarist4 жыл бұрын
Petri Serpentholder that’s interesting and I’ll have to look into that. If I’m being honest, I’m not sure my ears are good enough to really discern a difference in sound of fretboard woods, it’s mostly a matter of feel of the wood for me in which case ebony and rosewood are my favorites.

Just got mine, same as this one being demo'd. Got a 2013 Gibson LP traditional at the same time (both "used" from GC). The EII is the better guitar; sound, feel, playability. This coming from a chunky-neck Gibson "traditionalist", too. Then I started reading about the ESP body blanks made in China, Japan just finishes them/builds them in their Japan factory online "rumor". If it's a rumor, ESP should squash it with an official response, which they haven't. Makes me think twice about it and just keep the Gibson, with all its flaws. It's really obnoxious. Kthxbye.
@knowledgelibrary11412 жыл бұрын
Where did you read this?
@wretchedrider21572 жыл бұрын
@@knowledgelibrary1141 Several online forums. Then emailed ESP directly and all they'd ever say is they're "made in Japan", which as it turns out since the 1990s can mean a product is just finished in Japan. Such a joke. Good luck! They're still nice guitars but the shady marketing and avoiding any straight answer really turned me off to them.

Terrible looking demo. Normal light on the face and overexposed on the guitar so you don't know what it really looks like because the guy lightened it up massively. The opposite would have probably been better.
