Hi DIY helper, do you service the Espar D5E heater? I have the exact same problem as in your video, “no heater” and it’s never ran before, brand new install. I don’t have the equipment to bench test as you do. Can I mail my heater to you?

Try removing the fuses, put back the bigger one first and after that the small one for the controller. I am from Romania I don't if it makes sense mailing me the heater

@@DIYHelper Thank you for the suggestion. It seems I have a failed part somewhere. I agree with you that sending it to Romania might not be economical. I’ll start by changing parts and see what happens.

I just completed my instal. the heater ran fine on the initial start and one cycle later while I was exploring the settings on the EasyStart Pro it threw the "no heater" code and now will not respond to anything. removed the fuse, replaced fuse...still "no Heater" code I don't know what to do. I don't want to take the whole thing out, it was working fine. could it just need a reset? Is there no way to reset everything without removing? Where are you located?

This Fault can also be caused by a blown fuse or improper supply voltage. Check fuses and power supply first.

I just finished my install on a brand new s2 d2l. Had No Heater code as soon as it powered up. All wires, plugs and fuses are good. How do I fix it? Do I need a special diagnostic tool?
@DIYHelper3 жыл бұрын
You should be able to make a reset from the controller, navigate to the cog in the upper menu bar, press the Rotary button, the clock symbol will begin to blink. Now hold the back button for more than 5 seconds. You should be in the workshop menu now. Navigate to factory reset and perform it. Normally this should work but in the video it didn't so I had to use the Easy Scan diagnostic tool.

@@DIYHelper Tried it again today. Controller has no functionality. Same as in video. Its a brand new heater. Why does this happen?
@DIYHelper3 жыл бұрын
Very good question but I don't know the answer, sometimes it happens randomly for no reason, other times to many power interruptions. It is very annoying and seems like a global issue.

Did you do the factory reset?
@g3tb3ndt3 жыл бұрын
@@DIYHelper Im not sure how to do a factory reset. The controller is non functional. It just displays "No heater" and the led ring flashes red. Its unfortunate there isnt another way...

Interesting Video! You mention a Software Update. Do you know what changes happened? Is there a changelog?
@DIYHelper3 жыл бұрын
Sorry currently it is not allowed to share them, if your heater works fine don't worry about it. Updates cannot be done by most workshops but it doesn't hurt to ask if you may find yourself in one.

@@DIYHelper My heater is making an annoying 8-10khz Noise, i guess from the brushless Electronics. I wonder if it's worth asking for a firmware update, maybe it has been changed? Higher PWM freq?
@DIYHelper3 жыл бұрын
I didn't notice any noise, maybe you should get it checked out. I will put one on the bench when I have the chance and listen.

@@DIYHelper Thanks, I'm in an espar Workshop next week. It's not super loud, but annoying like a Mosquito. ;)

Maybe they removed the 120 Ohm CAN Bus termination while messing with the cable harness. That could be the reason for the Problems?
@DIYHelper3 жыл бұрын
I don't know what they did on the harness, but I have everything on mine and still didn't work without the diagnostic unit.
