I was originangel the reason I scooped there I had a land in hand and my only effective out was fading hope (I can't remember if I exiled all of them) so any if you drew into any counter spell with deluge it was over since can pick a counter spell and another draw card. Edit:also I think even if I did manage to get my hullbreak horror back I had no way of protecting it both my liers we're in exile and I had no way to gain card adavantage anymore (those were also either in graveyard which I no longer have access to or exile)

44:40 a very good lesson for those who don't know. It's critical for people to pay attention to what zone a card was cast from and you have bounce effect available.
@user-pf2ic1ph2e2 жыл бұрын
That was me I scooped because I was pretty much out of options I would need multiple turns in a row of top decking to get out of that situation since I had no more liers and hullbrealer horror was my only way of dealing damage besides hall of storm giants (which I wouldn't want to topdeck since it enters tapped and gives them more time to prepare with deluge and any other draw cards)
@Nicksizzle772 жыл бұрын
@@user-pf2ic1ph2e I would've scooped too. Lol Was just saying the bounce interaction with "stolen" cards is an often overlooked thing. My comment wasn't directed at that player (you) in any way. Cheers to you for hanging in there in that match. Very entertaining match.

I honestly find the Kraken at least as frustrating as taking no more turns. Both are basically saying "you don't get to play any more Magic", almost regardless of the board state or card advantage you have created for yourself. I only beat it once or twice with my (Kraken-less) Dimir control brew. You basically have to have Divide by Zero ready on every one of your turns when the opponent has 7+ mana open, and enough stuff to target it with once they inevitably do resolve it on their own turn.
@gunrunner77212 жыл бұрын
@@empirate100 I agree. I don't even want to watch any KZbin videos where the content creator plays Hullbreaker Horror in their deck, let alone play against it. I find it worse than Teferi, Time Raveler as far as lack of interactivity and fun goes. It remind me of old school Modern Tron decks that are extremely hard to beat when they get to 7+ mana. Well...at least it has a high mana value.

@MaskHero Zo You're welcome! I almost forgot, but tribal means all the creatures in a deck share at least 1 creature type. The deck is then referred to a tribal deck since the creatures are all from the same tribe. Some notable tribes in standard right now: Humans, Spirits, Goblins, Clerics, Zombies, Angels, and Warriors. Usually a good way to tell if a creature type is a lord is to find a creature that gives +× +× to s specific creature type.

The most popular format in the game, and one that isn’t on arena. 100 cards, but you can only have one of any card that isn’t a basic land. You get a legendary creature in a special zone available at all times - your “commander”. The colors of your deck must match your commander. It allows almost every card in mtg. There’s more to it but that’s the basics.

@@clrl936 I run 6 basic snow lands in my esper list and I've gotten to use faceless haven and blood on the snow way more often than I haven't been able to cast doomskar vs redaine so, I'm all for making my MUs against orzhov and mono black easier while every once in a blue moon losing to Redaine with an unforetold doomskar.
@clrl9362 жыл бұрын
@@ianbesso7018 Maybe. The thing is: you dont need to be able to cast blood on the snow with the benefit against monoblack or similar decks to win. You already have a favourable matchup, and can win without it most of the times. Now, against white aggro, if you miss your wrath you just lose. I dont really see the use of improving a matchup that you should already be winning confortably regardless.

Gonna sound weird maybe, but I want to start a boycott. I don't think this new format is good for the game and adds to killing real paper magic forever. Arena was supposed to be an option to get us through covid. On the other side many of us are anxious for the real game to come back. This is a move that will give all the new release excitement to arena only and will leave card shops desolate. CGB: I can't ask you to break your streak. I can't. It's your job. You have sponsorships and an audience and all forms of pressure to keep going. But if your a fan of the real game and don't want wizards to simply push it to extinction then this could be something to explore. The whole weekend this new thing drops I will not be playing. I will not buy into the new cards no matter what revealed. I can't expect anyone to do the same but this is a game from my childhood. I don't want it to go down like this.
@THEAWESOMEGHOST2 жыл бұрын
Different POV here - MTG was a game from my childhood, in the 90s all the guys my age were playing and trading decks at school and with time it did die out. For me Arena has actually revived my interest in the game and taught me how deep the game could have been all this time. I am an arena only player but I now want to go out and see if there is a paper community where I live because of it
@darreldorigatti8622 жыл бұрын
@@THEAWESOMEGHOST A very very good perspective. That's actually the kicker too. Arena rebirthed this game. It's original release, die down, then total resurgence in this form makes MTG the most successful TCG there ever was. Should have been an awesome move. It's weird, however, to be your own biggest competition. To get a nice shiny, armor-piercing gun, polish it up, load it up, point it straight at the foot and pull the trigger.

I love your content, but CGB - stop with the BM against your opponent! If they rope you, they do. If they "your go", they do. If they oops you, they do. A lot of old and new players look to you for a role model on how to behave on the arena and frankly, your emoting is not up to the same standard as your colossal deckbuild skill (except UG) or your pilot skill. You play and talk about hullbreaker like there is an out, or opponent should just concede. My concern is your aware that the card is broken and you enjoy playing it. Your livelihood depends on people being interested in this game, extra turn and "I win" cards are the meta and then you pretend to wonder why mono white is prevalent. This episode you played fun cards because you added a win condition that is un-fun and broken and knew you only needed one copy. Wizards instead of bettering their practices, client, community just announced they will charge you to hope for fixes. Good luck community, I don't think I can stick around....
