Drafting Amen Thompson who will be a DPOY candidate for a very long time, Jabari Smith has also been very valuable defensively. Tari Eason may even be more important and his value was shown once he went down injured and the rockets struggled without him. I have no issue with anyone voting for SGA. Joker is the mvp but it shouldn't be unanimous
@jordanjenkins1671Ай бұрын
What's really up for debate is the "why" behind a person's opinion. When you ask somebody why they're voting somebody over Jokic and they give a weak emotional argument that has nothing to do with "most value", that's where the debate really starts.

@jordanjenkins1671 value believe it or not Is somwwhat subjective. If we measuring value them defense counts. Joker status as an average at best defender should hurt his mvp case. SGA is a very good defender in addition to his scoring and relatively younger team that got 1st seed in the west. The last week for me might have hurt his case because he slipped a bit but his team is less talented and younger too. They so far haven't done a co mvp as of yet and as little as 3 weeks ago would have given SGA mvp but his last week or so he dropped a little bit. Then again if defender mattered more Joker, magic, Bird, Curry, Nash etc would have less mvp. The league is in good shape going forward. A guy like wemby will be in mvp talks in 2-3 years on defense alone . 25-12 and 4 blocks will have him In the convo once that team gets better. He likely will have Hakeem or David Robinson type of mvp seasons .

Today's analysts on ESPN and Fox can't be taken seriously about who should be the MVP. Despite Joker's overall performance this season, Kendrick Perkins and Stephen A. Smith poorly analyze who should be the MVP.

"Jokic's game is bland, & he doesn't impose his will onto the opponent." Something tells me that some of the talking heads at the Every Story Politicized Network are put out because Jokic doesn't have enough melanin to suit them.

it's crazy how none of these people actually watch basketball but are paid millions of dollars to speak on it
@RelblАй бұрын
That is the bottomline: these pundits don't watch the games. They'll watch the Lakers, maybe Boston or the Knicks, but they don't watch anything else... they just read the box scores and know little about the games.

They'd rather give MVP to nobody than to the Joker...

Like Kobe once said: "Excuse me? I ain't ducking shit!" That's the mentality you should have.

Some people shouldn t vote, Perkins for sure, we already saw what he did last year... The NBA should do something about this. Everyone sees that Jokic is the best player and the most valuable too. Probably the best steal of the draft ever. 10 years later and he still exposes every other team!!

They don’t like seeing Euros coming in and destroying the country club league players like Lebron, Durant and James Harden created.
@sirissac234Ай бұрын
"His game is bland, but effective" You mean like Kareem's skyhook? Who knew we should have been ignoring the most effective dominant playing of the greatest players ever because it was merely "bland" and constant.

Honestly this is so rich seeing the biggest clowns are the only ones who aren’t voting for Jokic. All you Luka stans please realize the company you’re in
@johnnyd.1925Ай бұрын
You must mean SGA stans cause thats who the clowns are voting for.

Yeah, I remember that one year Jordan was like, "Yo, we gotta tank a game or two so we don't face the Pistons!" Oh wait, NEVER HAPPENED!!!

They hate jokic because all the things he has been doing isnt being done by lebron so they dont talk about the joker they talk about what lebron is up to
@markwhitchurch4521Ай бұрын
Exactly. Many fans are more capable of MVP voting than the so-called media experts.
@caryroddaАй бұрын
Spot on! One note though: Bucher did say on Colin Cowherd's show that this year Jokic gets his #1 vote for MVP. So at least he has come around.

Anyone who takes the sports media seriously needs to not watch or take part in any sport at all.

I agree cause just a week ago, all these so-called TV sports show analysts were saying no one should want to play the Lakers. So if the Lakers are such a threat, why will the Laker be ducking any opponent. I mean, every opponent they play will be playing them at a disadvantage cause most of everyone knows the officiating will make sure the Lakers shoot at least 15 -20 free throws more than their opponents. So yea, their opponents will be competing against two opponents, the Lakers and the officiating.
