On ESPN's Mike and Mike in the Morning, former Chicago Bull and L.A. Laker Ron Harper gives his views on Shaq and the NBA Finals. Brutal TV and Radio follows. He has a bad speech impediment, but what possessed the Worldwide Leader to interview HIM??? You know that it's not the BEST idea!!!
Shortly after this interview, "Ron Harper" began trending on Twitter. YOU THINK?!?!

Ron Harper = a wealthy man, a college degree, 5 NBA rings, and he's not embarrassed of nor is he afraid to challenge his disability.

I grew up in the same town as Ron Harper and know him personally. He is really a smart guy. He has struggled with this speech impediment all of his life. What you guys don't understand is that this is a problem a lot of professional people have and should not be viewed as a reflection of intelligence. Ron Harper is a Super Basketball Player as well as a person!

Ron Harper was an awesome player. Yes, it may have been a little uncomfortable, but I don't have a problem with ESPN putting him on the air. I think for a lot of people, it was a sign of strength to hear him get through the interview, especially with all the knowledge he obviously has.

Wow. I don't know what society's come to. Ron has a well-known speech impedement. That was one of the inspirational things about his story. Everyone, Ron, ESPN, Broussard knows the situtation. People should be honored he would even come on the air to express his thoughts to the best of his ability.

But it's really not a big deal for us. We live just like the so called normal people. I'd certainly rather stutter than being paralyzed! They were looking to interview someone knowledgeable about playing in the finals.. Who better than the great Ron Harper. Don't feel bad for him.. He got plenty of revenge on those that ripped on him. Five times in fantastic fashion. Such a versatile player and I'd consider him a Chicago great even if he only played 4 seasons. So much respect.

Wouldn't it have been much worse if ESPN DIDN'T invite him on because he has a speech impediment? That would be discrimination. It was Ron Harper's choice, and he is obviously a very intelligent and knowledgeable guy. If people make fun of him or think less of Ron, that's their problem, not Ron's or ESPN's.

I knew a kid in High School that stuttered worse than this. It was the first time that I had ever spoken to someone with that problem and even then, I never felt the urge to laugh or ask him what was wrong with him. He was really intelligent with anything other than school, but what do expect? He was stoned 95% of the time.

Not sure why it is a bad idea, everyone knows he stutters. I have a stutter and I am happy to be interviewed on any show espn, cnn. This is who he is and why should he be ashamed to talk on the air, if anything it shows his true character. People don't ask to stutter it is just something that is apart of them. From what I have learned he has come a long ass way and improved his speech a great deal from his College days.
