Contrary to ESPN's video accusing him of sports-washing to cover up his dictatorship-leading style, I saw a nation thriving under his leadership, with remarkable advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, and education. It is disheartening to see ESPN attempting to put a good man down by overlooking the positive impacts of his governance and resorting to unfounded accusations. ESPN comments on Sports and, particularly, the NBA, since it has a partnership with the NBA. The reason why they speak up about the dictatorship of Rwanda is because the NBA's commissioner has decided to ignore human rights issues to do business with a dictator. During the genocide of 1994, the NBA didn't have any relationship with Kagame, so there was no reason for ESPN to make a documentary about Rwanda. ESPN has also produced similar editorials about the NBA's relationship with the Chinese authoritarian regime.

It's not uncommon for the Western media to refer to African leaders who don't align with their agenda as dictators (Nelson Mandela, Kwame Nkrumah, Patrice Lumumba, AHMED SEKOU TOURÉ , Jerry Rwaling, Thomas Sankara, etc). It's outrageous for ESPN to label Paul Kagame, a visionary African leader, as a dictator. Kagame's remarkable transformation and unification of Rwanda is nothing short of miraculous. As a Liberian, I strongly believe that if more African leaders had Kagame's forward-thinking mindset, our continent would be on par with Western countries and our professionals wouldn't feel the need to seek opportunities abroad. Similar to Paul Kagame, Lee Kuan Yew of Singapore was also branded a dictator by Western propagandists. Despite this, under Lee's leadership, Singapore's GDP per capita skyrocketed from just $512 to being among the top countries in the world. Paul Kagame is indeed the Lee Kuan Yew of Rwanda and Africa as a whole. Shame on ESPN

When Rwandan basketball started growing, I was excited to attend the games, and they have not disappointed. They are always exciting to watch, and I like that they are affordable. The basketball games are ideal for a post-office hangout, and the entertainment is a bonus. Thanks to the growing basketball scene in Rwanda, many basketball lovers have been following the local league. With the league taking a short break, they have extended their interest to BAL. As a basketball lover, I appreciate that BAL not only brings joy to the fans but also entertains people and contributes to Rwanda's economic development.

Calling President Kagame a dictator is an understatement. He is worse than that. Imagine 4 years of war leading a killing machine army as his security advisor & comrade put it a year ago; shooting a civil plane & killing 2 heads of state, an act that ignited the 1994 genocide, ordering the massacre of 8000 IDPs a year after, entering DRC & killing hundreds of thousands of refugees as documented in UN reports, assassinating his dissidents in Kenya & South Africa as he himself admits to it, and many more atrocities. He uses money, fame & sports to whitewash his dark side, but the silent cries of his victims will one day reach up to God & they'll be vindicated.

As an african, I strongly believe that if more African leaders had Kagame's forward-thinking mindset, our continent would be on par with Western countries and our professionals wouldn't feel the need to seek opportunities abroad.

Kagame is a dictator known for his authoritarian rule and human rights abuses. His regime has been implicated in fueling the conflict in the eastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo, where Kagame and his loyalists, including the M23 militia, have been accused of exploiting the area's mineral resources and contributing to the loss of countless Congolese lives. It is imperative that organizations like the NBA carefully consider the ethical implications of engaging with leaders like Kagame, as such associations could tarnish their reputation and inadvertently condone or overlook the atrocities being committed under his regime. By taking a principled stance against supporting individuals linked to such grave violations, the NBA can uphold its commitment to integrity and social responsibility on the global stage.

They like puppets who do nothing for their own countries. Whenever an African country is doing well, westerners always have to find something wrong. They dig everywhere for few people who are against him and ignore the many who actually support him, just to feed their own negative narrative. The sad part is when Rwanda was divided & the genocide against the tutsis happened, the west did nothing at all.
