They tried trading Ray and Rondo to the Pistons and Rondo got pissed Ray informed him “aggressively.” That he needed to get his attitude together or something. With Kobe's death it was specific though - because Kobe died estranged from his parents. They never approved of his wife Vanessa and they had a huge falling out - even ended up in legal battles of them selling his meromabilia. Paul Pierce seeing that I think saw how horrific an early death was leaving their family "unhealed" and the parents to have to live with that the rest of their lives wanted to make sure he didn't die or have his father die - and have similar regrets.

I just keep going back to that interview KG had with John Thompson the year after the Wolves reached the WCF, and he was every bit the competitor Kobe was. And he's the only one who didn't come out with a statement. Must be in a world of hurt.

I have to agree that Kobe’s death is different. I have never seen a world mourn a person’s death like what happened to Kobe. His death has changed many people for the better and hoping everyone can be a better person, God fearing, hard worker, great father/mother, creative and many more like Kobe. He set the standard for not just basketball but on how to live life. He wasn’t perfect but no one is. Only one person was perfect that is recorded in history. His legacy and spirit lives on and someday, we will meet. God Bless, Mark
