The Yankees reviewed old game footage and informed the second base runner of the sign sequence - that isn't illegal (that's actually legal and done by pretty much every team). The Astros and Boston used electronic and live game feed to steal signs - that's another level.

I'm going to tell the truth about the cheating scandal, whether you're a Yankee fan, Astros fan or a fan of any team in baseball. 90% of all MLB teams cheated, including the Yankees (remember the letter) and to prevent this scandal from bringing down MLB as a whole the Astros were used as a scapegoat. All the teams of MLB should thank the Astros for taking the hit so any other team didn't have to. All teams cheated ALL OF THEM, so to me the playing field was/is equal. That's why Manfred didn't punish the Astros any stiffer/harder, because he knows the truth, and the truth would topple MLB and leave the sport in ruins. So give the Astros a slap on the wrist or ruin baseball as a whole, that's the decision he was making.

I think what people fail to notice is that the MLBPA refused to let the Astros players talk without immunity. With Manfred wanting to get a full perspective, he needed to do that. The MLBPA made a dumb decision since only 3% of the union are Astros players, meaning 97% of the Union are pissed. What Manfred did wrong was what he did after the fact.

I know that public opinion carries *A. LOT.* of weight in the world of sports, but I *still* feel like the Astros should've been stripped of that World Series title, MLBPA or not. The league was worried that the MLBPA would have made a huge stink about it, and my overall feeling about *that* is "Who cares??? You gotta do the right thing and strip that title." Furthermore, I think if the MLBPA *had* made a huge stink about revoking the Astros' title in '17, the fans would have crucified the Players Association. MLB missed a HUGE chance to say that no one or nothing is above the league. There's a lot of people out there who still think that the Black Sox scandal was the hugest scandal MLB ever saw. I won't dispute that, but I think the sign stealing scandal is undoubtedly MLB's biggest *modern day* scandal without a doubt.
