That's exactly Bill's point, which even after they corrected SAS they still missed. Pittsburgh is a safer situation than those teams with a superstar QB because losing that QB would completely tank those teams' seasons. Pittsburgh has 2 guys that you're perfectly comfortable starting in that system without missing a beat. The ceiling is lower but the floor is much higher.

Why can't we just be a good team despite the QB. We have been doing this for a few years. We have competent QB play this year. What does Fields have to do to get respect. Media always discount the steelers because we don't have Mahome, Allen, etc... The only Elite QB that has won a SB has been Mahomes. Allen hasn't, but he's seen as one of the Elites. You don't have to throw for 400 yards a game to be elite. Fields has Elite talent and right now is playing on a good TEAM that can win without DEPENDING on the QB. What's wrong with that? Since Russell is the backup as of right now, he has the most experience out of all the quarterbacks in the league for he has also been to the Super Bowl a couple times and won. He also improved his last year was Denver, and he beat Mahomes and the Chiefs while on a Denver team. So I think he was right. The team overall is playing great and flowing through Justin fields, but having a veteran quarterback always helps. That's what he's met because he's from the old school and I agree
