First take isn’t a journalist show. It is an opinion based debate show and sometimes folks miss that. Stephen A. has a journalistic background though and worked for the Philadelphia Enquirer: and came to ESPN as a journalist and beat writers for the 76ers and NBA overall. However he host a debate show and has to give his opinion while keeping it entertaining via hot takes. Folks get mad at that because they expect sports news from these debate shows that are about subjective opinions.

What's your point? It's dependent on Green to "get better." The league is expecting to nip this in the bud when it comes to his behavior, which is why they didn't put a number on the suspension. If Green gets better within 5 games of being out, he will be expected to never do this sort of thing again. If he does, he'll be out of the league. There is no other punishment you can hand out beyond "indefinite." I believe this is Green's final opportunity to right himself.

Dumars, Kerr, and others talk about getting professional counselling… just today in Yahoo Sports Dumars said “I think there’s also an obligation to help these young guys get better in maturing and how to deal with things.” he mentioned a lot about players history to make decisions for suspension… and when you look back at Rasheed Wallace comment about Draymond when he was young, where he got a lot of time with Detroit pistons… so, what I'm saying is, it all adds up to what he is now… and players do need professional counselling… not only NBA players because young kids do imitate idols… if you're at the Detroit pistons locker room at a young age… you look up to them, and when the BAD BOYS do something terrible to a player… it sticks! It's bigger than basketball or any professional sport… they look mature, but they're not! Players should think about their responsibility to society, kids, and fans that help contribute positively to the betterment of an individual growing up… just my thought as a parent who loves NBA…

I mean rehabilitation is what prevents Draymond from doing it again. You can't suspend the guy and not make it mandatory that he gets help because then the suspension is useless. I've always had great respect for Joe as a player and still do as an NBA executive. The league has to hold Draymond accountable and probably should have taken these measures sooner. Draymond needs to get his mind right and realize that he can't assault other players, including his own teammates (The Jordan Poole incident) and just pass it off as "I'm just Draymond being Draymond". His behavior is unacceptable and he obviously needs help. He needs to heed the wise words of Ice Cube "You better check yo' self before you wreck yo' self" or he'll get expelled from the NBA. No player, regardless of his stature, stats, accolades and experience is bigger and more important than the organization they belong to.
