Lamar has put up those numbers against the 3rd ranked SOS, while Josh Allen has put up his numbers against the 21st ranked SOS. Not to mention, that before the season a significant portion of sports analysts also said Baltimore would miss the playoffs; even going as far as to say Derrick Henry was an aging superstar that probably would take a significant step back. There was doubt on both these teams entering the season, but when you have one of the toughest schedules and you still lead the league in most statistical categories; that has to equal MVP.

If they appreciated his talents they'd be in awe of every game he plays instead of saying they don't care about the regular season when it comes to him LeBron is even unappreciated because most people have spent most their lives hating on that man just because he was compared to their favorite player. That is absolutely a thing. And if you can't understand that then that's a you problem

@iReply2Dummies: I agree that some hold onto their past narratives for Lamar because of how he looked when he started & his playoff woes. Lamar continues to grow every year though, his growth is insane. He can make every pass in the game right now I feel like, when he won his first MVP he had some struggles thowing the ball outside the numbers as he would often throw to the inside shoulder of his receivers & that’s how the Corners would pick the ball. He’s insanely good right now, where I’ll disagree with you though is that VERY few people have had Lamar outside of the top 5 & it’s probably been years since they have. The common consensus Top 4 is dang near agreed upon as Mahomes, Lamar, Allen, & Burrow. The main thing that changes is the order they put them in & 5 goes to whomever they want to give praise to.
@sprawlz646614 сағат бұрын
@@iReply2Dummies bro it’s a fact that he struggles with certain passes. Everyone has a flaw in their game. Lamar struggles with timing routes and deep outs/corner routes. He will be applauded when he retires and be looked back on greatly, but even if he wins a Super Bowl the goal post will be moved to make the season look weak or make him seem inferior to another QB when he's been amazing most of his career. Social media has ruined a love for athletes without a drove of haters coming to bring them back down. It happens in all sports though, there's always one.

In 6 playoff games, Lamar is 2-4 with 6 tds and 12 turnovers. My guy is 15-3 in the playoffs. These are actual facts and can not be ignored. Playoffs are where all time greats shine. Aaron Rodgers has 4 MVPS but only won 1 SB. His playoff record is 11-10. The playoffs are the test of greatness. The numbers I stated are undeniable. I have never seen a fan base who cares so much about regular season awards.

I just wanted to add one little thing about Lamar Jackson. When Lamar got his first MVP he did not have the supporting cast around him like he has now. I am glad that things are slowly getting better for Lamar and I pray that the Ravens win out for the rest of this year. I pray that the Ravens get to the Super Bowl and win it so I can hear : “What are they going to say now”? Thank you all for hosting this show today and for the entertainment of the day. Lamar has been over-appreciated if anything considering he's never won anything other than an MVP. Why does it always feel like theyre trying to make a case for Lamar because he's Black at the same time that there are highly successful Black QB's winning in the NFL right now. It's a strange disconnect.

When Brian Bilick said "who in the history of the NFL looks like Cam Newton has won a Super Bowl?"..... saying that is a prime example of gaslighting. As if Jim Crow wasn't in existence for half of the life of the NFL... as if the Hall of Fame wouldn't have been field with players that look like Lamar Jackson if given a chance. As if the record books wouldn't have been filled with players that look like Lamar Jackson. Lamar Jackson isn't as new as we want to suggest from the stand point of opportunity. (i get Lamar is historically unique skill set i get it)... I am talking about the constant narrative that in a word is >> racist. NFL fans and decision makers mostly don't look like Lamar. And for years the idea was you had to look a certain way. This is why i firmly believe that Carson Beck was viewed as a number 1 over all pick in the draft process early because he fit the "image:" of what a QB looks like. Dave Gettelmen Giants GM and former Panther GM once said upon drafting Daniel Jones > "that is what a NFL QB should look like". ... at the highest levels of football many firmly believe this. For years every draft cycle you hear the anonymous scouts with digs and African American QBs ... EVERY YEAR!!!... or some critic about their cognitive ability. Always some dig related to some perceived flaw between their ears ... Yet the NFL rookie of the year award that has been in the game since 1957 has been given to QB's 11 times.... 6 of them African American QB's in the last 17 years alone. And it is about to be 7 this year...... with the top 3 QB's projected in next years draft African American.... I did a study on this and African American QB's pan out at astronomical rates compared too their counter parts. So while Lamar may or may not win it all. The more chances players that look like him get the more records will fall and the more that will change. While some will push back against it because human beings are so tribal in their thinking. I just keep thinking if Lamar Jackson was a red head with frickles named Mitch McNielson he would be all over every bill board and this MVP race talk would be over.... especially if Mitch McNielson had 4k yards passing near or over 1k rushing 40 plus TD passes and 4 int and 1st or 2nd all time passer rating for a season. I just keep thinking about how lamar who is 27 years old. Is on a normal career path. Stuck locked out of the playoffs by a All time great in Patrick Mahomes.. Like Peyton Manning who didn't even WIN a single playoff game until year 6.. or how Micheal Jordan was stuck getting bounced out of the playoffs by the Celtics then the Pistons BEFORE he went on his run. This just looks like normal progression in sports. Patrick Mahomes is the progression unicorn. What he has done early in his career isn't normal... it isn't what normally happens.... EVERY great QB of this era is stuck trying to solve the same issue The difference is how ppl view them and thru what lenses.

Why is CAM the 🤡 putting Mahomes in the same sentence as Manning and Brady when it comes to mobility saying you can to a degree attack him. Patrick Mahomes just WON the Super Bowl where he was the LEADING RUSHER FOR HIS TEAM. Show me where Manning and Brady won games where they also were the leading RUSHERS for their team you can't. They were statues for a reason because they weren't Mobile, That's nite and day to Mahomes who can take off if necessary. Also, NO ONE has ever said Patrick Mahomes is underappreciated as a RUNNER since we all know he is capable of burning you at any time, this was Cam backhanded compliment after making a BONEHEADED one to begin with.

If Lamar doesnt win the MVP its criminal. The fact Lamar plays so well that he has sat out the 4th Qtr in multiple games this year is the definition of VALUE to a team cause hes so good he can sit out and garuntee to stay healthy and theres nothing more valuable than that im sorry. Not to mention he balled out in 5 of the last 6 all against playoff teams and Allen has had the easier schedule and he had a bad game just a couple weeks ago. Even in losses Lamar is usually balling its just his defense or kicker that lost the game. The fact we are even talking about Allen being ahead of Lamar is lunacy. Lamar lifts his team mates as much as Allen. Lamar also had to over come his bad defense the first 3/4 of the year. Lamar in the regular season as individual player is the best QB in the NFL now including Mahomes. Mahomes has more SBs but thats cause hes had better teams and coaching staff but youre lying if you say youd take anyone on your team over Lamar screw the playoffs because besides one year i believe his coaching is what lost him those games. If they didnt abandoned the run they wouldve won the SB and KC wouldnt be trying to 3 peat right now. Lamars done nothing but improve every single year and this year is 2 times as good as the last years MVP so idk how you give it to anybody else. This isnt bias cause its my team either im a Colts fan.

The fact that Lamar's numbers this season are better than his numbers last season, and yet there's even a DISCUSSION of whether he should win MVP, is asinine. As much as Josh Allen is balling out this season, it's not even close in my opinion.
@RMMomma4Eva10 сағат бұрын
What they're trying to say is we're moving the goalposts when it comes to Josh, because his stats this year are somewhat better than Lamar's were when he won last year AND Josh has more wins than Lamar this year. But it's a specious argument because no season is exactly the same so the circumstances that make the MVP will naturally change from year to year.

Lamar Jackson synopsis 2024: Jackson's quarterback rating is 121.6, second all-time to Aaron Rodgers (122.5 in 2011). He leads the league in touchdown passes (39), touchdown percentage (8.8%), yards per attempt (8.9), adjusted yards per attempt (10.31), QBR (77.7), net yards gained per pass attempt (8.18), and adjusted net yards per pass attempt (9.48).
@jviewer9915 сағат бұрын
Under appreciated? He got an MVP with less than 30 total touchdowns because he “did it alone” even though his defence that season was the only way he survived the first two months of the season and made the playoffs. Now he has Henry getting 200 yard games Zay with over 1000 receiving, Mark Andrews playing like he used to and it opens up his game and Allen is doing it alone with no 1000 yard rushing RB or receiving WR but, the stats matter? If that’s what happens it’s a stupid award.

If the MVP was just about individual stats, why didn't Dak win it last year? He beat Lamar in almost every single stat possible (passing yards, total yards, completion %, QBR, passing TD, total TD, turnovers). We can't just pick and choose how the MVP is decided, whether it's narrative driven or stat driven, to suit the QB (or player) we like the most. If we're keeping in line with how the MVP was awarded last year, Josh Allen should win it this year (even though I prefer the award is stat driven and Lamar win it)
