As someone who lived & is from Gilroy, Ca and worked, had High school classes with Rob, I can tell you he is a funny ass guy, worked with him during high school at Best Buy. He played Madden Tournaments with his chest, and used to register with a pencil and customers would be amazed. Seeing Rob on the sideline on Friday Night Games was always the norm. Class of 2001! I watched this while bawling like a six-year old cheerleader. My wife thinks that I am depressed for some reason and walking in on me watching this didn't help a lick. People, if this man can face life everyday without complaining, how can we form our lips to bitch about ANYTHING that life throws at us? I would LOVE to have this man coach my kid because of what he brings to the table. What he brings to the table is not just football knowledge, he brings LIFE lessons! It's character, attitude, backbone, spiritual guidance and LOVE FOR YOUR FELLOW MAN. As a United States Marine, this is the man who in the face of assured death, could make you charge a machine gun nest. If you are blessed to have a man like this pass through your life, you should get down on your knees and thank GOD for that blessing. I have only met one man like this in my life so they don't come along often but now I can say that I know of two. Coach Rob Mendez, I don't know if you will ever see this but if you do, I want you to know that you have touched the SOUL of this man for just being who you are. I appreciate the fact that you have decided to share the gift that is you. I would have ran through brick walls for you. I pray that you will live a long and prosperous life and continue to share what is you to these kids. You are giving more than anyone can put a price on and because of that, these kids are receiving a gift that will grow within them for the rest of their lives. God bless you my brother. @andreworourke28745 жыл бұрын
Ethan Lington I had that same reaction dude. Welcome to California, they just dehumanize people. Just because someone’s different there life isn’t as valuable as someone. Because their life maybe hard they don’t deserve a shot at life. Because it might be costly to afford that wheel chair, he doesn’t deserve to live because that’s a burden on the family. It makes me sick how people just see that as normal and ok now. We don’t view each other as human beings anymore, we are “clumps of cells” or “parasite living inside of a woman.” I hope someone sees this video who’s contemplating an abortion and just gives it a second thought. It’s a super hard decision either way, but look at what this man has done. Look everything he has gotten to enjoy with his life. All of that would have been taken from him if he was aborted.

The abortion bit at the began caught my attention. Can you imagine if his mom had aborted him like she apparently wanted to!? That's why abortions for birth defects and other such reasons should absolutely be illegal. AWorldWithoutTenors your right, who are we to decide whether someone should live or die, that’s a dangerous place we’re in today unfortunately, this story is truly inspiring
@coronasummerclassic5 жыл бұрын
@@rkarimpineth This story is about one kid out of a 100 who has coped well with the condition. That being said, he still struggles mightily every day and at only age 30 right now, he has a long way to go. What if the other 99 kids with the condition do not cope well? What if life is hell for them? Do you love passing on your genes so much that you are willing to increase the misery in the world? You know how they say "rest in peace" when someone dies? By giving birth to someone so disadvantaged in life, you are taking them from "peace" to misery. Life is beautiful when you are healthy. If you become damaged later on life, fine, you must persevere and finish your quest; but being so damaged at birth is an evil I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The lion with no legs or arms at birth will die very quickly and be laid to rest in peace. The human with no legs or arms will be forced to suffer as long as possible. I really don't understand the logic.
