As a Gamecock fan, I'm so happy to get this victory. Maybe not the cleanest, but one of the most exciting and competitive college basketball games I can remember. I'm hoping both of these teams can begin a tradition of making the NCAA tournament every year. I'd love to see them meet in the round of 16 or 8. There is no reason these programs should not be able to compete with the best in basketball.

With the introduction of the portal I see no reason that either team doesn't consistently make the portal. Both are good destinations for players with solid coaching. As a Clemson fan I know Brownell has done amazing making his rosters using the portal. Hate to lose this one given how good the SEC has been looking thus far this year, but I think Clemson will hold its own in the ACC this year and make a good run.

South Carolina has grown immensely since the start of this short season. They have the talent and definitely have the coaching, they will be dangerous come March.

Gutsy win, but they def tried to find a way to lose it. Typical Clemson stuff at the end of regulation, (as well as the end of OT...the fact that ol' boy ACCIDENTALLY hit the FT, and then we let them catch a half court heave and still get a clean 3 point shot off...inexcusable), but somehow we found a way to win it, so that's good. Not happy we blew at 14 pt lead in the first half, then blew an 11 point lead later on. Can't do that. Hard to believe we were up 7 with 1:33 left and somehow let it get tied. FFS guys, when you're up 3, FOUL them and make them shoot two free throws and NOT A 3 pointer!
