It’s Caitlin Clark and the entire draft class of the WNBA this year that brought about this change. One thing I noticed that the coach of the Lynx said in the interview is that revenue is up a lot already this year, and that’s because there’s so much attention on that draft class. You saw what happened with the Sky game when it wasn’t televised on the app. Something similar happened last night with the Seattle Storm game because people wanted to see Nika Muhl play. I was watching a bootleg stream of the game on twitter from a fan in the stadium. Most of this is because of stars from this draft class. I’m going to be watching the Aces because Kate Martin made the team, and the Wings because of Jacy Sheldon. And of course Chicago because of Reese and Cardoso.

League loses money every year “should’ve never been dealing with this”. That’s exactly what they needed to deal with at the time. The wnba sees that multiple teams have had to book larger arenas because of Caitlin Clark coming to town and now they see they have a light at the end of the tunnel. That’s why they’re making this investment now-so they don’t lose the future of the league. Smart decision

Steph Curry = Catlin Clark = Same Effect
@petep52079 ай бұрын
Actually, if we are being honest, Caitlin Clark's effect is bigger. The NBA was already an established league. The WNBA has been on welfare for its entire, 28-year existence. Caitlin can prove instrumental in changing that forever. I gotta give her more credit because she has the taller task. Her league sucks and it is filled with mostly dikes and dislikes who are all working against her. It's like trying to hug someone while they're punching you in your face.

She literally spoke on the topic at a press conference. She used her voice to speak, then people used their ears to listen. People took note. The league decided charter flights were a good P.R. move and it was a necessary cost of doing business.

You are wrong, the television stations that broadcast WNBA basketball increased their money by millions of dollars to broadcast more games, especially those of INDIANA FEVER.

@juarangos they still aren't making money. They have lost tens of millions of dollars for 20 years. 1 year of extra money doesn't erase th 250+ million they lost and the NBA gave them.
