Oh be quiet Chiney. You were a CC hater. You and your buddies Molly, Monica, Andreya, and others were awful and showed so much disrespect to CC. If you analyzed the game fairrly you would have given Caitlin her flowers earlier. In all her achievements on the court, she endured such hate; yet she was so respectable to everyone. Look at the poke eye, and all the extra shoves. The other players, people don't want to watch. It's the same boring unwatchable game. Caitlin's game is exciting and that's why people are watching her. It has nothing to do with color.

But we have all seen them - the horrible post, the horrible takes by analyst and players who want to dismiss her talent and her appeal. We have seen her bodyguards. You don't get bodyguards unless there are threats. We have seen the awful AI pictures. We have seen the flagrant fouls being committed against her on the court. She brushes it off and doesn't dwell on any of it. Last night she had a heckler and what did she do - she handled it. She took it to the refs, who took it to security. The heckler was pulled from courtside was given a warning and he returned to his seat. She didn't go on and on about it - she took the correct action! She doesn't do victimhood. Which is so impressive for a mere 22-year-old don't you think?

Your voice was a necessary counterpoint to the untruths that viewers were getting from the Mollies of this world- I also include Sharpe here with you. Responsible journalism seems to be a dying breed. Please continue to be at the forefront of truth. Clarke was a joy to watch. She and her teammates displayed class, professionalism, and remarkable restraint amidst All the pressure and ghetto behavior by her opponents. This is her leadership style, for a young woman she has an incredibly high emotional IQ that matched her greatness on the court. She is worthy of being called a hero by a lot of the young boys and girls who have learned to love basketball and watch her games.

Chiney is full of it. Clark was picked up full court the entire season. Had the most flagrant fouls against her of any player in the W. Had one of the legends physically incapable of not throwing shade at her and giving her the due credit she earned. There were numerous incidents where players should have been thrown out of the game for attempting dangerous non-basketball plays against her. After watching ESPN and other media outlets, they just simply don't get it. Clark success was due to entertainment. If you watch her games, they are exciting the way she hits the threes, pushed the tempo and pass the ball. For the WNBA, they are not doing slam dunks. So the excitement comes from those logo threes, passing, and tempo. She is compared to Stephen Curry for a reason. To associate this due to Clark's race is emotional and not accurate. Some of the best WNBA players are white--- Briana Stewart, Plum, Sue Bird, Taurasi. How come those players never brought this attention to the WNBA? Regarding player resentment for a hyped rookie, that is the norm. This happens in every sport, the WNBA is full of competitors who are full of pride and trying to make a living.

Keep in mind that Caitlin Clark played the second half of the first playoff game with a black eye which was obviously blurring her vision because she was missing so many shots we know she normally made...forty per cent of them at least. And, CC played the second playoff game with a black eye which still had to be less than a hundred per cent. Third, her team mates were not on the same page and the chemistry was not there due to "play off jitters"...the Fever is a young team and did their best. I am proud of this team.

@mazzith
@mazzith 2 ай бұрын
For the WNBA to really grow they need to adopt the foul rules of the NBA. The NBA would have never let an intentional eye poke stand without it being upgraded to a flagrant foul even after the game. There was another time where CC had her entire face planes by Brittney Griner and no foul was called. When you let brutes physically assault skilled players you suppress the ability of the skilled players who will drive viewership and attendance. People love flash not the old physical style.

Sorry guys! Quit trying to justify “she got through it” crap. She got hammered all year! Just look at the physical nature the teams used to stop her from full court to the rim! I think the interesting part of this story is the worse part isn't even about race. Are there bad actors who are racists making awful and disturbing tweets and post YES! But what I find remarkable is that Caitlin Clark has a SIGNIFICANT number of black men who are fans. And there are a significant number of black men who rush to defend her. Why is that? Is it because they appreciate her talent, and they appreciate her for raising up the league in a business sense? They don't care what color she is - they respect her for her skill in playing the game of basketball and helping it reach new heights. We found out that WOMEN DO NOT SUPPORT OTHER WOMEN. Women of the WNBA and many women analyst have just shown us that Women DO NOT Support other Women. They have shown us that they can be jealous and vindictive. They can be petty, resentful, self-absorbed and selfish. I also think that many have decided to go the victim route claiming excessive racism to create a "blanket" narrative to justify their vindictive behavior. All the while Caitlin Clark has been professional, and she has not responded to any of the negativity that has been directed towards her. She has said BOO about the intentional attacks she has received on the court and off. She has never stooped to playing the victim in any of it. I applaud her for that!

I was going to try and articulate the same thoughts till I read your comment...There are lots of white women and some white and black women are straight already in the WNBA, they dont get the same level of hate and treatment CC gets...its not hate spawned from racism, its hate spawned from jealousy and resentment that she could have this large of a fan base and garner this much attention before even playing a "pro" game. They still think its before social media, these younger players in college are more well known now then they were 20-30 years ago and it will continue, not sure it will reach the heights of CC again but Paige and Juju when they come into the league will bring their own fans. Its the same as the NBA, Zion was probably a household name in college...we live in a world that is much smaller now where people from all over the world can easily know what is happening anywhere at any time

What needs to be understand is the good outweighs the bad and that you can’t control trolls online. They don’t reflect WNBA or the players. You can kick them out of arena if they’re being ignorant. ANd also there were a few players which we all know about that fed into a narrative and bullied clark on the court with non basketball plays. It’s all good now but our Refs need to do a way better job overall. As far as stuff online all people can do is speak out against it which they’ve already done and the WNBA has done, social media is always gonna be toxic bc people say whatever they want. There have been horrible prejudice things said against CC as well. Idk how many times i’ve seen degrading comments or people calling her great white hope etc. Let’s just not act like it’s one specific teams fan base bc i’ve seen ignorance across different teams fan bases for example chicago sky. There are disrespectful ignorant people from all walks of life. but there are ALSO beautiful amazing loving and kind people from all walks of life.

both the league & Can’twin Clank can be more outspoken - it’s obviously a good thing that the league (and women’s sports, in general) is growing, but to sit here & pretend that a good portion of Clank’s cult followers are not rooting for her because she’s a hetero white female in a predominantly black, lesbian sports league is a lie. once that is addressed more boldly by both the league & Clank, the league would be on an even better footing.

i love when SAS and Shannon checks these women at ESPN. a bunch of Caitlin Clark haters. i bet Caitlins last game does better numbers then the WNBA finals but they’ll still find a way to hate. a lot of people are going to stop watching now that her season is over.

Never watch a wnba until I seen supergirl playing for fever ...it's like going to the movies watching a box office hit ...that's the only reason this become big for women's basketball 🏀 .cheers from Australia.

I caught that too.. what they don't seem to understand is we/her fans don't care if she has 10 championships or none ...we still love watching her play...thats the bottom line...what other wnba player can say that......? zero........

Agreed. They were comparing her with Serna Williams, Simone Biles, Katy Lidecki. All great athletes ... but the difference, which makes comparison unfair, is that they are not in "team" sports. Each of them has their success in their own hands. Caitlin is part of a team, and no matter how great she is, she can't win a championship herself. It takes the whole team playing well, or at least multiple team members, for the team to win. How about we put Caitlin up against some of these other top WNBA players in a one-on-one game? OK ... I'll concede that some gymnastics and swimming championships are team events. But all three of them have "individual" medals as well.

They showed her love and respect but Collier needs to grow herself with the game. Go to communitties, attract more fans etc... the love and respect of a fan is not a given, it is earned. Even if you make all this awards like those legends before CC, the fans did not care to invest more time to those greats because those are not yet their superheroes.

Every time a person compares Larry to Caitlin and Magic to Angel, Magic cries to his therapist. It’s such an insult. Especially since I see Bird AND Magic in Caitlin’s game! Stop saying Angel is like him! Chicago Sky games don’t see large numbers UNLESS she is playing Caitlin while all of Caitlin’s games without Angel still see crazy viewership. Angel is NOT Magic Johnson! Stop.
