It’s all good now but our Refs need to do a way better job overall. As far as stuff online all people can do is speak out against it which they’ve already done and the WNBA has done, social media is always gonna be toxic bc people say whatever they want. There have been horrible prejudice things said against CC as well. Idk how many times i’ve seen degrading comments or people calling her great white hope etc. Let’s just not act like it’s one specific teams fan base bc i’ve seen ignorance across different teams fan bases for example chicago sky. But what I find remarkable is that Caitlin Clark has a SIGNIFICANT number of black men who are fans. And there are a significant number of black men who rush to defend her. Why is that? Is it because they appreciate her talent, and they appreciate her for raising up the league in a business sense? They don't care what color she is - they respect her for her skill in playing the game of basketball and helping it reach new heights. We found out that WOMEN DO NOT SUPPORT OTHER WOMEN. Women of the WNBA and many women analyst have just shown us that Women DO NOT Support other Women. They have shown us that they can be jealous and vindictive. They can be petty, resentful, self-absorbed and selfish. I also think that many have decided to go the victim route claiming excessive racism to create a "blanket" narrative to justify their vindictive behavior. All the while Caitlin Clark has been professional, and she has not responded to any of the negativity that has been directed towards her. She has said BOO about the intentional attacks she has received on the court and off. She has never stooped to playing the victim in any of it. I applaud her for that!

They still think its before social media, these younger players in college are more well known now then they were 20-30 years ago and it will continue, not sure it will reach the heights of CC again but Paige and Juju when they come into the league will bring their own fans. After watching ESPN and other media outlets, they just simply don't get it. Clark success was due to entertainment. If you watch her games, they are exciting the way she hits the threes, pushed the tempo and pass the ball. For the WNBA, they are not doing slam dunks. So the excitement comes from those through logo threes, passing, and tempo. She is compared to Seth Curry for a reason. To associate this due to Clark's race is emotional and not accurate. Some of the best WNBA players are white--- Briana Stewart, Plum, Sue Bird, Taurasi. How come those players never brought this attention to the WNBA? Regarding player resentment for a hyped rookie, that is the norm. This happens in every sport, the WNBA if full of competitors who are full of pride and trying to make a living.

@FrankPirrello10 минут бұрын
Agreed. They were comparing her with Serna Williams, Simone Biles, Katy Lidecki. All great athletes ... but the difference, which makes comparison unfair, is that they are not in "team" sports. Each of them has their success in their own hands. Caitlin is part of a team, and no matter how great she is, she can't win a championship herself. It takes the whole team playing well, or at least multiple team members, for the team to win. How about we put Caitlin up against some of these other top WNBA players in a one-on-one game? OK ... I'll concede that some gymnastics and swimming championships are team events. But all three of them have "individual" medals as well.

I love Caitlin Clark because she’s transcended sport as a role model and one of the greatest athletes ever to start playing professionally. Caitlin is a global box office. She’s like Sam Kerr and The Matilda’s in Australia. She’s like Mary Earps and The Lionesses in England. Indiana fever as a team this season has had that same impact, you want to follow their story. Forget all the individual records she’s broken or the fact she’s an All Star, WNBA TOTY, 4th in the MVP race and ROTY but the impact she’s having on the league in general. The multi billion dollar tv deal, the expansion, the record shattering attendances / tv viewership. She has the attention of her male counterparts. She’s brought herself and the WNBA even more into the mainstream. Not to mention she’s now a global cultural icon. She’s already got millions in endorsements. I wouldn’t be surprised if she was the star of Space Jam 3 like Jordan was in the 90’s but focused on women in basketball. Or even her own Pop Vinyl. Nor would I be surprised if people whether able bodied or in a wheelchair pick up a basketball and start playing.

I don’t respect the league! I enjoy watching Caitlyn and the Fever. I don’t care one minute about the WNBA! I want to watch good basketball, and honestly, the more the existing players/coaches hack on CC the less respect I have for the league in general! It really concerns me that these analysts still don’t get it. I am not a big fan of Stephen A., but he is correct on this! We all know the resentment was/is there, and the league ignores it at their own peril. Again, people don’t care about the league and whether the WNBA is successful, we simply want to watch our favorite players and teams win. Today, there are more fans rooting for I Diana because CC got drafted there. She is fun to watch. Not a thug! And never has a bad thing to say about other players! You cannot say the same about others. These others verbally and physically let their feeling be known, and are doing so while hiding behind other women/players who claim it’s always been this way and it’s simply part of the game! Maybe this is correct, and maybe it isn’t. Either way most of the fans are head to watch basketball that resembles the women’s NCAA game. Nobody wants to see women banging up on one another. Women also seem to be more willing to do so with a hate in minds rather than simply being competitive. At least that’s what Fever fans have witnessed all year. Running players over, stabbing at their eyes, etc. wow
