Its because it wasn't generated from them, but from one person. Its Jealousy, pure and simple. And the thing is, there is nothing wrong with being jealous. If you really think about it, Jealousy is the catalyst to ambition. How that Jealousy manifests and is managed though is what matters and differentiates it as good or bad. This is just an example of bad jealousy. None of those complaining are working harder to become better so the spotlight falls on them. They don't have the mindset of the Mamba - RIP.

@@SodoDolo facts…. same group of gender that want equality Caitlyn as an equal, but that jealousy only proves that no matter the skill set, at the end of the day they want want easy handouts. Funny thing about this whole situation is that the senior players can’t deal with the fact, younger players are more recognized over them.
@SodoDolo
@SodoDolo 4 ай бұрын
@@MgambireBabako I agree. Especially that last part. And I can understand the why. The WNBA was growing (slowly), but with the arrival of the high profile rookies like Clark it has resulted in Exponential growth for the WNBA - something none of the “old heads” so to speak, were able to accomplish. But that happens throughout history that someone redefines the game and helps it grow. I mean after all, Michael Jordan, Steph Curry, Lebron James, and many others when they came in to the league redefined the game and I don’t recall many, if any, NBA players trying to take that away from them.

The problem though is, its not just her but the WNBA and entities like ESPN, Fox Sports want folks to think it is all her and her alone. The viewership has increased across the board for many teams and its not because they only care to see CC. They want to see the other new ladies like Reese, Cardoso, and Brink play. If you pay attention, you can see how they are spinning this narrative of it all being because of CC. She deserves many props for increasing a lot of interest in the game but its completely unfair for these people to sit up here and totally ignore the impact the other ladies are making on the league. It's controversy that drives the amount of time spent talking about CC. If the women in the WNBA treated CC with kids gloves, you would not hear any of these shows comment so much about her or the WNBA. Just like the media does with regular news. Good news doesn't sell. It's boring to our society. When they can push negative stories that get people more emotionally invested, their ratings go up. Look at our political landscape. The negative/controversial sells. They are going to keep stoking the controversies as much as they can to get as much as they can from the ratings. The WNBA is not the only entity that relies on viewership for their financial success.

BUT, I haven't watched them since, until now. It's NOT about race! It's the NIL, which is the reason influencers exist on social media! Doesn't matter who is better, it matters that they matter! Thus, Caitlin Clark has endorsements. NOT ONE major corporation is going to spend millions on merch/product that won't sell. Period.

That’s crazy considering that white basketball fans didn’t need a white dude getting drafted to watch the predominantly black NBA. 🤔 Furthermore this exact statement proves the point of so many ppl who have been saying that her race is why she’s getting so much attention because her talent, compared to veteran players in the league, needs to develop. Now that she’s struggling in the league, as predicted by truth tellers who were called haters, everyone wants to coddle her and claim everything is unfair. I do feel bad for her, but it’s because she was never going to meet the expectations set on her by casuals who only saw her highlights and have never watched a WNBA game. She earned being picked first, she was the best baller coming out of college but 2 things can be true. Thinking she would be the best in the league when at this stage she’s not even the best player on her team, absurd. And she still hasn’t faced as much negativity as Angel Reese since 2023.

Truth. I wonder if Fox touched on that before the show.

And they shouldn't. I love my black sista's but her numbers speak for itself so there's no need to make it about race. I'm glad to have Angel in my city after Candace Parker left. She is having a great start, but let's give Caitlin her credit.

@dwaynejackson6935 Who says ppl haven't given her credit. She's gotten tons of credit, as she should. However, there r other players deserving of credit as well. Let's not forget, LSU beat Iowa in the National Championship.

It's not about race, slow one. It's a clear jealousy issue perpetuated by the vet women. The old hags hating on the young girl. And it's not even the stuff on the court that drives me to that conclusion, there have been numerous interviews and posts about wnba players hating on Clark even before she stepped on a wnba court.

No they aren't scared. This panel (minus Joy) is the most intelligent group of sports talk personalities on TV and they are smart enough to know that race isn't the issue. Too bad you don't understand that but I get it. When you don't really have a legitimate argument throw in the race card.

It's not about a 3-point shot anybody can shoot three-pointers it's about her it's about the way she walks the way she talks the way she carries herself the way she smiles the way she dribbles the ball with the way she runs up the court is everything she has it she is the chosen one

I believe this year’s group is the reason tickets sales are up. Reese, Cardoso, Clark. She’s definitely not the star of the league. These are weak takes about the team she’s on. Candace Parker won rookie of the year and took the worst team to with the championship in her first year. They pick and choose who they want to give star power to.
