JT may have led the team in points, rebounds, and assists in the finals, but if he had led the team in FIELD GOAL % he probably would’ve won MVP. He simply wasn’t as efficient as JB offensively and nowhere near as efficient defensively.

he was 4 percentage points behind brown in FG%. JT should have won or it should have been split between them two. I would have been happy with that. But not only was tatum not far behind in FG% he was the one getting double teams thrown at him. He passed out of 61% of the double teams that came his way, and when he made assist passes 50% of them that were 2s went in and 45% of them that were threes went in. Not only did tatum accept the defensive pressure, his team thrived because he used that pressure in such an elite fashion. He took the pressure off all his teammates and found them easy shots as a passer. And he scored ore than anyone else. He was snubbed for both ECF MVP and the finals MVP. But thats no discredit to brown he was great and did his job well, his job was just to play off tatum and feed off the freedom and space tatum created for him, which brown did.

JT can win his next year... right?
