Whippets and greyhounds actually have a stride that's identical to a cheetah, their spine basically accordions and they have two distinct four-off-the-ground strides where all four paws are in the air, one where their legs are extended and one where the hind paws come up past the front paws. The only thing they don't have is a big thick tail to use as a rudder so they lack a little bit of maneuverability, but their ability to accelerate is just as impressive.

im a 23 year old and its hard for me to get emotional. Im usually get confused in moments where a mother or father would cry of happiness at their daughters wedding. But when watching the moment of unconditional bonding and love between this sweet girl and spitfire especially when traveling nationally together, it moved me to tears. I cant describe it other than that without words, they have a mutual understanding of having each other's back and providing support. Like when the girl is yelling "go go go!" you can tell how much training they had and the dedication. And the way that spitfire follows her commands in a team mate way, not an owner- dog relationship type of way. Its almost like he understands exactly whats going on and tries his best at competitions with that look of focus and determination, not wanting to let her down. i can finally say that i now understand for the first time what its like to be moved to tears of joy.

Good comments @user-mj5dg4no9b Unconditional desire to make their owner (the human) happy and taken care of; that's the beauty of (most) dogs' attributes. If the average dog knows a person just wants to pet them, most become putty in the hands of that person--especially if it's the dog's owner. "Man's Best Friend" is one of the most appreciated sayings to most men who own dogs, because while I love women, there are also MANY women/wives/girlfriends don't know when to shut up and stop bitching and/or fighting with their man. With dogs, there are no ulterior motives and other mind games when it comes to the canine's everyday existence, and men GREATLY appreciate that with dogs.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Most of our furkids have lived to be teenagers over the decades, one to age 20, and from the moment they join our family, I know we're fated to be separated by death way too soon. It's so hard, but it would be such a sad life without them.
@judithlehman9122 Жыл бұрын
I have said that for years. The religious folk stop by regularly to ask if I want to see my loved ones when I die, and I always say yes as long as they are my animals and name off my dogs and the ones I hope have, then the cats. I’m 84 now, so the future list is shorter now, but recently I added an Australian Shepard mix, as we had lost 😊our number one dog to cancer and I and my now number one dog needed a new friend. I also add on my cats and one quail I rescued and a bald baby bird I rescued from a stalking cat, he turned out to be a crow. once his feathers came in. I taught him how to fly and saw him off to join a band of crows. He came back occasionally to check in. Hope when I go on to the next adventure all my friends will be there to share them. My idea of heaven is all my animals at their peak age and condition, ready to play.

For several years we have adopted retired racing greyhounds and from our experience the fact that her dog will go into water is as much a feat as the jumping! Every dog we've had was radically adverse to water. They are the best dogs, gentle, quiet, and extremely easy-going. The only drawback we see is they don't have the longest of life spans. It is very hard to say goodbye to them.

Lazy as in would rather try to train through a dog than train herself. I've been around dog show women many of them are very similar kinda people. They act like dogs are everything. But they only talk about what the dog can win for them.
