i think india couldnt get likes of gillespie ,he was reason behind ishant sharma renaissance and have heard that he is good coach from news reports, etc. I think instead of gambhir wished he would have got indian gig, he is well respected bowler. Pakistan gig comes with poison challans, for last decade we have seen some consistency and coaches given longer gig. So ya he is better off coaching other teams barring pakistan.
