Virat may or may not score big runs on this tour but amongst all tough places to bat across SENA and india(there are tougher pitches in india these days than in SENA in tests), his best chance of scoring big runs is in Australia because his defensive game is still pretty good against fast bowlers, he plays pull shots quite well even on really well directed short balls, plays backfoot punches sometimes so if he can just control his "lust" of playing cover drives on non half volley balls early in his innings, he can score runs even on tough pitches like in Perth and Brisbane. Contrary to what Brendon Julian said, Virat has a great record against Nathan Lyon.

That is exactly what I thought, lol. The best places for Kohli to score are either Australia or South Africa, not the dust bowls of India. It is like make-or-break for him now; either he will retire or it will be one of his best performances, I think. Nathan Lyon actually Kohli averages more than 100 runs against him in Australia and about 55 overall. Hazelwood is the most likely place for him to struggle, or else it is cummins. For Starc, if he controls that LUST of drives, he would be easily tackled.

​@@satyampandey8619Almost everything you have written is what I always think whenever india plays test cricket in Australia that only Cummins and Hazlewood can keep troubling him or keep getting him out because they are so accurate and ask tough questions on almost every 8 out of 10 balls, Starc should not really be an issue because he bowls a lot of juicy half volleys and unless Virat goes for booming cover drives, I don't see any trouble facing him and Virat not only has a wonderful overall record against Nathan Lyon but he has certainly got a lot better in his attacking game against spinners this year so on pace friendly pitches of Australia, he should be fine against Lyon.

Ye decks r so much harder to bat on nowadays (for the better) plus the balls seam has been made bigger and there is more polish on the ball now and the wobble ball. Batting is just harder now, I doubt there will be many 5 day test this series.

Indian top order has been out of form for like forever ! That said , Indians like ball coming on to the bat and these conditions can bring them back in form . Ironically they are afraid of playing spin. Everybody talks about Pant and Kohli but I think Gill will be the standout batter in this series . Indian bowling is lackluster besides Bumrah and Aussies will target the noob quickies . Looking forward to a cracking series !

Well i believe atleast we wont be crying while playing on this pitch like some Aussie Players and expert when they face same conditions and failed to deliver so i would love to see how ICC rate the pitch after the test because if it was INDIA that ground must have got a C also not more icc matches on that ground!.
