We gotta stop being ashamed of Bama, and we gotta start praising Vanderbilt. Everyone seems to think Bama should've won by virtue, because "Bama just doesn't lose to Vandy" but nobody is praising how Vanderbilt played hard, never backed down, never turned the ball over a SINGLE time, and always kept going full speed. We need to praise QB Diego Pavia and his crazy endurance, not turning the ball over once is insane. Nobody is guaranteed to win or lose in football, but it sounds like everyone thinks Bama should've won because they're Bama. People like Stephen act like Alabama lost to a bunch of unathletic NAIA chumps, but he clearly wasn't watching the game. Vanderbilt played better from the first minute, scored first, and never gave up their lead. It ain't like Bama blew a 55 point lead, they were NEVER leading. Start giving credit to where credit is due.

Of course they are still a potential playoff team. Every FBS team with two or less losses is a potential playoff team thanks to the expanded 12 playoff. A loss to Vanderbilt isn't devastating as in years past. The regular season and each regular season game has been downgraded now. Since the BCS era and especially since the portal and expanded playoff format, college football has sown the seeds of its own destruction.

I saw the cover coming, but the upset was the cherry on top. I do buy the SEC, ACC, Big Ten network packages every fall in time for college football, so I was glad I got to see the game unfold. Alabama was never the best team in America. Georgia almost completed a 45 point comeback on the Tide. No #1 team has to hang on for dear life to a massive lead, regardless of the situation. Now the AP has finally got it right with Texas #1 followed by three Big Ten teams, the conference of champions.

The ACC is an abomination of a conference. The big ten has 2 teams every year that are competitive. The fact that winning the ACC gets you a 1st round bye is a joke. Not all conferences are the same. Say what you want about Bama but the SEC has 5+ teams that are very good

Show some respect to Vandy. This team is different this year. They beat Virginia Tech, challenged Missouri and nearly won, and had a tough loss to Georgia State. I’m looking forward to seeing them compete against Kentucky, who has a stronger defense than Bama. This team is no doormat this season.

Bama lost the game when we deferred to the second half after winning the coin toss. We did exactly what they had to have us do, give them the ball. When you are the better team on the road and win the coin toss you should always receive the ball, try to drive it methodically downfield, score, get the lead, put all the pressure on the underdog and take charge of the game. As it was we went, "Here you go you take the ball first". Vandy said 'thank you' and went on an 8 minute drive, eating up clock and scoring to take a 7-0 lead. Moments later we throw a pick six and it's 13-0 and we've had the ball maybe a minute. This scenario would never have happened if we had said simply said two words. "We'll receive".
