Colorado has nobody to blame but itself for the idiocy that it has brought on the football program. First of all, I am a 61-year old black man and I call it like I see it! The Deion Sanders hire was nothing but a hype train from Day One! Colorado's football program was drowning in a sea of abyss, and needed someone to resuscitate its program. Coach Prime himself, needed a bigger platform other than Jackson State to make himself more marketable. What more can you ask for? Jackson State knew, just as Colorado knows now that Deion Sanders only cares about DEION SANDERS! Coach Prime will leave as soon as his son Shedeur and Travis Hunter bolt to the NFL. Whether you love or hate Nebraska's Matt Rhule, he has restored life back into the Cornhuskers football program. He understands that the game of football starts in the trenches on offense & defense. Sanders reluctance to address those issues is the reason why Colorado got pushed around against Nebraska.

He’s used his brand and charisma to get this far, which more power to him but he’s a used car salesman/ pastor masquerading as a HC. His followers are the casuals who’ve jumped on the hype train. HBCU is not what it used to be. For the past 10 years it’s a step down from the FCS teams that play in the playoffs. Back in the day when Grambling and Southern were putting NFL talent on the field and the SWAC teams could beat many D-1A (as it were) programs. Deion put together a skilled team by recruiting his sons 😮😂😅 and convincing Hunter to come aboard. If it weren’t for his sons he’d still be coaching a minimally successful SWAC team. He is way over his head coaching an Big12 (PAC12) program. He doesn’t know how to fill a roster and create depth. He and his followers are obsessed with recruiting stars and collect fast players who are individuals and want the fast track to the NFL. With exception of his son and Hunter he is not creating NFL coachable players!

I told everyone this when Prime left Jackson State. He used the Floyd protests as a recruiting tool and then used HBCU's to his benefit. He then gutted the program, took the best talent to a white school. If he had such a problem with JSU's administration, there were at least 30 other HBCU's he could have coached at. Now he's using Colorado. He fires a talented O-coord for a yes man that allows him to drop back on every play. Defense, he doesn't care about. Running game, he don't care. (He had an experienced SEC RB with over a 1000 yards and a rookie RB who's lighting it up at KSU.) He only cares about himself and his progeny. I remember pointing this out, and the Prime cult came after me. Called me an Uncle Tom hater. Now they're silent. I'm a big fan of Prime, believe it or not, but I can't condone his actions.

For 2 years I've been called "hater" (the foolishness Deion started for any non-glowing opinion and the dumbest thing I've ever been called for having an objective opinion that includes zero hate) for saying the following. Deion has not put in the time it takes to become an elite coach. Every great coach spent a minimum of a decade as an assistant, most for nearly 20 years. Kirby Smart 18 years as assistant, Saban 21 years, Lou Holtz 10 years, Bowden 15 years, Paterno 15 years, DeBoer 19 years. This is why I was laughing when people were saying A&M or Alabama should consider him as a coach. No they weren't. He wasn't on the top 100 list. Those programs know what it takes to be an elite coach. Why would anyone with any critical thinking skills think some great athlete can just up and suddenly be an elite coach. Its like the unchangeable laws of physics. There is a formula that must be followed to be an elite coach. It's why every single coach has had to follow that formula for the one of the most difficult jobs in this country. It would be like taking a UPS driver that was great at delivering packages and naming him CEO of UPS. The failure would be epic, guaranteed. It takes time watching and learning from those who are great to become great.

@RealTalkWithGaryM2 ай бұрын
@choosenone20901 are you serious. Every Power 5 school has black position coaches on their staff. So Deion hasn't done anything special when it comes to black coaches being on his staff. He doesn't even have black defensive and offensive coordinators.
@mackdeen70212 ай бұрын
@@choosenone20901 huh? What? You mean like X-NFL hall of famers. You do realize your next game with an instate rival has had a black coach for a couple years before Deion rode into town in his Rolls Royce. Weird how I don’t see you and the Deion cult championing him and the Rams program for for the minority coaches he hired. But I’m sure poor Warren Sapp is so thankful for his opportunity 😮😂😅

@RealTalkWithGaryM Sir, you yourself wrote, "The only thing deion has done is make money for himself, the school and his son." I pointed out your statement was false, and now you're upset. Did you drink your coffee this morning? My point is still correct, and yours is not. Emotions are not facts.
@choosenone209012 ай бұрын
@mackdeen7021 Sir, the comment was about deion and his staff. It was not about any other team. I am not a cult. I am a supporter of Prime and his coaching journey, so my response to the comment was strictly for Prime. I personally love being black, but I don't care for the race arguments.

Buffs D gave up 34.8 points per games last year, this year 23.5 per game this year. They lost 5 games by a score or less last year against a very good PAC12, better that this years BIG12. Do the math. Buffs are gonna be fine this season. The offensive line will get better, the defense is gonna get better. Don’t let the media wear you down, this Buffs team is only going to improve

I genuinely believe Colorado decides to lose on purpose. It's simply unreasonable to ascertain that Colorado is this unprepared from a coaching standpoint.

The same concerns from last year carried over to this year. Nothing got fixed. The offensive line is still weak, the defense is horrendous again, and the quarterback is the most overrated player in all of college football. Nothing has changed.

When Colorado hired Coach Prime I thought it was a great story and the whole CFB community got behind them (mostly) but then later I kept hearing about how the players were behaving before and after games, and I thought “why would they do that!” No one expected them to go out and win a natty but the clown show that followed lost them a ton of football fan support. Why couldn’t you just be happy in the moment and play the best football you could instead of talking a bunch of sh*t and acting like you’re better than everyone!?? Accomplish something on the field first, THEN feel free to celebrate! Last week on JOX in Birmingham they listed the most hated teams in football and guess who was number one!? Yep.

Colorado has been one of the worst Power 4/5 programs for 2 decades. There last winning season was literally a decade ago. They had bad talent and recruiting WELL before Prime got there. Yes his personality runs people the wrong way but realistically CU wasn’t going to be a contender no matter who the coach is. Nebraska already had better athletes and recruits before Rhule got there. They’re comparing apples and oranges because of their hate towards his celebrity status. Plus Rhule has WAAY MORE coaching experience at the college and NFL level🤷🏽♂️. That matters. But hey it is what it is.

I wonder who's responsible for all the media stories surrounding Colorado and all the unjustified hype surrounding a horrible program? Couldn't tell you who's to blame for that. No glory hounds masquerading as coaches on that team.
@capricornmagic63Ай бұрын
Outside of Jimmy Horn, Shedeur and Travis Hunter there really is no-one else of note. I said from the very beginning that Sanders should have kept it all low key. Having an office or complex adorned with catchy phrases and slogans will not win games. If Colorado gets to four games they'll have done well.

Best example using the FSU coach that went 13-0 getting torn apart this year for starting 0-2. Deion fans are going say "it's a racial." Nah, he is just not a good coach and a terrible recruiter.

Prime forgot he is old now and lost these kids don’t know who he is. At a small college he seemed like a god, then at a big program he is well below average. He obviously assumed players would just come play for him and he wouldn’t have to recruit and these players who just ruin their future draft statuses

Colorado is over in the Deion era. In the shell game of portal-disruption football mixed with "the coach who shows up with his 'starting five'" (which in basketball is enough and in football is a circus at best), Deion needs to contemplate his next move. I said last year, when I was at the Standford game in person, they tanked and got progressively worse as the night cold air increased, and no legitimate recruit is going to Colorado. The team is a good D2 team at best. Oh, by the way, there has been no growth in this program since last year. In sum, Deion will not be in Colorado next year because they will only win four games this year. Finally, I am a Deion fan, but I am also a realist; "hot garbage" smells like it is time to go.

Didn't PF say about 2 weeks ago that Coach Prime should replace Lincoln Riley at USC, because Prime is the better coach and LR is getting fired for his failures????
@Mr.conserv2 ай бұрын
You can’t tell prime nothing. The line is the issue and until u fix that you’ll never be good. Hiring a coach doesn’t fix the line either. You need quality players that you retain year to year and by year 2-3 of the same players that have chemistry is how you win games. This portal garbage isn’t good enough. These kids don’t even know each other there is no chemistry

Deon needs a line, both sides, but they won one game before he got there. Won 4 games last year, let's pretend he wins 6 games this year. He technically is moving in the right direction. CU being a national contender in year 5 would be considered a miracle for anyone. He maybe only promoting 2 guys, but would we no Jimmy Horn without Deon. Umm. Deon needs to learn how to recruit

I believe there is no grace with Deion because he’s openly confident and that is concerning. Understand the press has a job to do, but I feel like there’s an underlining agenda in place. Can we all remember when Butch Davis took over the University of Miami and they stunk for 3 seasons but he wasn’t getting any negative press at this level and he was taking over the historically great Miami,!But in the 4th year what happened with the ….Miami became great again and won a national championship. Unfortunately, Davis left before he could complete the job to go to the NFL. I wish that Deion would be granted at least three years before we started criticizing the program because we all know it takes multiple years to turn a program around. It will be asinine to think he could take a program in two years that went 1 and 11 before his tenure to be a bowl team. Why is the expectations much higher for Deion than anyone else?
