@@rioh3253 It was both. It was actually Matt Rhule’s second year at coaching Nebraska just like it was Deion’s second year coaching Colorado. The difference between them is Deion asked most of the starters to go to the portal last year if they weren’t good in their first year to bring in a new set of B team players, while Matt Rhule did go to the transfer portal for a few receivers, but that’s about it. He landed Raiola as a 5 star prospect. Nebraska’s team is much more cohesive than Colorado’s. Two completely different cultures at both programs and you saw the outcome last night

When asked during the presser after the game why Colorado only had 4 designed run plays by halftime, Deion said players have to be salivating to carry the ball, they have to be asking the coach over and over to get carries. He actually blamed the RB's for not salivating and begging to run the ball as the reason why Colorado has no run game. Pure INSANITY.

Not to mention that as bad as that offensive line may be, it wouldn't look quite so bad if Shedeur Sanders didn't look like the ball was superglued to his hand on every play. It's OK to get rid of the ball or tuck it and run once in a while. He's responsible for a lot of his sacks and problems. Also, we live in the age of the inernet. He has stated this emphatically in multiple interviews. He is bolting Colorado once his sons leave for NFL, no way is he sticking around to continue to suck coaching college in Boulder. His only motivation is to get his sons drafted. He doesn't develop players since he doesn't care, doesn't recruit with in home visits, and his act gets old quick with college age kids. Most college FB fans, smart fans, knew Colorado would not be a top team. Nobody was saying they would be elite. Deon might have bootlickers and his program might be a joke, but the media was never saying Colorado was good. They just like the show and the ratings. Also, why does nobody say that Travis Hunter looks like he weighs 100 pounds? Are my eyes deceiving me? Dude is a baller but he is very small.

They have zero chance of making the playoffs, even if they win out. (Fat chance of that!). Please stop wasting time talking about them and their supposed chances of getting into the playoffs. Dabo won't use the portal and Deion thinks the portal is capable of replacing two thirds of the roster every year - both are wrong. Clearly the appropriate use of the portal is to look for key peices while maintaining continuity in your program.

I'll just keep saying it until all people can finally see it. For 2 years I've been called "hater" (the dumbest thing I've ever been called for having an objective opinion that includes zero hate) for saying the following. Deion has not put in the time it takes to become an elite coach. Every great coach spent a minimum of a decade as an assistant, most for nearly 20 years. Kirby Smart 18 years as assistant, Saban 21 years, Lou Holtz 10 years, Bowden 15 years, Paterno 15 years, DeBoer 19 years. Why would anyone with any critical thinking skills think some great athlete can just up and suddenly be an elite coach. Its like laws of chemistry but in football. There is a formula that must be followed to be a great coach. It's why every single coach has had to follow that formula for the one of the most difficult jobs in this country. It would be like taking a UPS driver that was great at delivering packages and naming him CEO of UPS. The failure would be epic, guaranteed. It takes time, a LOT of time watching and learning from those who are great to become great.

As a fan of a school Matt Rhule coached at, you should consider 28 points a blowout for him. He gets a comfortable lead and starts draining clock and relying on his defense to seal it. A little frustrating, but it's who he is. That game was not in doubt.

He all but admitted that in the post-game pressers, saying the game wasn’t a contest in the second half, and they could have maybe been more aggressive (but he didn’t seem like he wanted to be more aggressive). As a traumatized Husker fan who’s witnessed what feels like a thousand one-possession losses in recent years, I am beyond content to watch us conservatively protect a big first half lead. May it ever be so 😂. To be fair, as mentioned in a comment above, we were two (questionable) penalties from it being 42-10.

Regardless of how you perceive Deion and Colorado as a whole, this era has been a wild success. Colorado was 1-11 in 2022 and completely irrelevant in a down PAC12 for over a decade. In an era where social media and attention as just as valuable as actual wins, Deion has brought relevance and attention to Colorado. Also, arguing about 5-6 wins may sound like a joke, but keep in mind Colorado would be battling to win 5-6 across MULTIPLE seasons under previous coaches.

Yeah they are. Whenever they have a decent coach, even just a half decent one, they’re good. However, they always seem to get their expectations high and then fire guys if they have a down year or two, and have to start over. I hope Kenny is a keeper, it’s great that he will have a true chance, due to them being down, and inky needing to show a little progress every year. ASU has everything they need to be a powerhouse. I’m a Husky, and I’ve always respected the Sundevils.

Colorado's problem is simple. They don't have any balance on offense which puts to much stress on their defense. Deion pass heavy offense despite having an awful offensive line. Is purely designed to inflate his son's stats for a higher draft pick. The Heisman is a lost cause!

A lot of these anaylsts need to go back the last 10 years and look at the top 12 teams and their W-L records. How many 1 loss and teams were left outside the top 4? How many 2 loss teams were in the top 12 before 3 loss teams were in it? Resume is going to matter way less now on getting into the playoff except for the 10-11th slot (with the 12 slot going to the G5 champ). Notre Dame wins out they are in with 1 loss, they are on the bubble at that 10-11 spot with 2 losses. But this goes for almost any other team. Penn state is in with 2 losses, so is tennesse, washington, clemson, even FSU can win out and get in with 2 losses still. Because there are usually not more than 10 teams with 2 or fewer losses.
