I remember when this happened in 2007 and this being added to the old "crazy coach meltdown" pile. But watching it now? Gundy is right and good for him for sticking up for his players and holding the reporter to account.

Do you believe Gundy's story here though? A player went home crying to his parents because of a newspaper article? I don't know. Oklahoma State had just lost a game and Gundy may have been engaging in a bit of deflection.

If he were talking to a man, let's say that had been me in the press room, and I know Gundy is a former OSU QB and a solid athlete, but I don't think security would be quick enough to stop me from getting to the podium and confronting him for his aggressive behavior. 👊🔥💰

Exactly! I thought it was it funny when I first saw this in 07. I thought this story was about the Coach and how media doesn't take him seriously. But I come back now and understand the story now. It's about the character/talent of an athlete twisted by the media. The "I'm a man" comment was just taken out of context for comic relief. But now I appreciate and respect this coach and wish we had more vocal people like this especially today.

I'm talking about all the way to the top, yeah. Unjustifiably in a position that I'd rather not be in. But the cream will rise to the top, ooh yeah. Macho Madness, yeah, has got more to offer than President Jack Tunney thinks that I got, yeah, and let me tell you something right now, cards stacked against the Macho Man Randy Savage in Wrestlemania III, let me say it, yeah, let me say it out loud, and let me point to the President of the World Wrestling Federation, the Macho Man Randy Savage is not happy with your decision, yeah. I am the cream in the World Wrestling Federation and there is no doubt about it, yeah, you Mean Gene Okerlund you know that I'm the cream of the crop!

It's 2023. Mike Gundy has been at Oklahoma State for 19 years. Overall record 163-78. Conference record 100-63. One Big XII championship. Bowl record 11-6, including two Fiesta Bowl wins -- only year his Cowboys didn't qualify was his first year as coach. Teams like Gundy's Cowboys are one of the things that make college football so special. They're not heavyweights, and never have been. They've spent a lot of their time in Oklahoma's shadow. But god, they make it fun. You cannot overlook a Gundy-coached team no matter how good you think you are. Shout out to Coach Gundy, one of the all-time greats.
