I agree with how he tackled and this situation was bad... but this has got to stop! If he wasn't allowed to just give himself up and the rules around it and sliding,you would of probably had a normal kind of tackle! What if he pulls a Mahomes and once the DBs are slowing down and stopping, he takes a quick step around you and hits another 20 yrs on your run? Mahomes has taken advantage of these rules at least twice this yr and it led them to wins in one score games! The fact that you can take advantage of a defenders fear to give up 15 yrds to a penalty or tacking wrong is insane! This is why the old fashon way of tough nose run the ball and play smash mouth defense has mostly left the NFL! It's an ugly game now and I hope the Lions or Eagles win the super bowl just by that! Lining up and smacking mfs in the mouth! This treating the QBs like they're playing a completely different game is Ludacris! Dominique is right! It shouldn't be on the defender to try to make sure they're protecting their opponents!

Why is the QB the only free runner who can just give himself up and you better not touch him? I'm sry but these rules take away from the true talent and grit of QBs like Josh Allen, Steve Young, Ben Rothlisburger, Lamar ect.... We used to only hear and worry about concussions, now with all the new rules and safety players are getting hurt all the time and hurting all different parts of their body's! Do you guys have any idea how much injuries have gone up to the waste, legs, knee, ankle and foot areas since these new rules over the last 10 or so yrs? It's crazy!

Trevor literally hit a stutter step plant on his foot. If you tell me Jukes don’t start with a step closer than your stride, I’ll link tons of highlights. He said even then they had 5 yards. Average skill player runs 10 yards in 1.2-1.3 seconds, going together, that’s about .6-.65-.7 seconds of a reaction time before the hit. Which you can slow mo the time and the start of the slide and the hit occurs in the same second. Jumping would’ve likely got azeez injured because he’d have to think, plant both legs and jump within a second when seeing the stutter step Lawerence did which other qbs don’t do , or depending on how he jumped, his cleats could’ve landed on Trevor’s body, head or neck.

The slide rule allowing the QB to force themselves down… it’s such a BS play. So a defender is naturally going to attack someone low so if a quarterback is going to slide and make themselves low, put two and two together and you’re surprised that this type of thing would happen? I’m sorry, but once the quarterback leaves the box and makes themselves a runner. They should have no special protection no other position can slide down like that especially if someone like Patrick Mahomes can use it to fake out a defender.
@drieey16 сағат бұрын
You have to get down WAY before Al-Shair gets there. That's the way the old school QBs did it or be prepared to take that hit!
@popjibbletz18 сағат бұрын
While this hit was clearly unnecessary Demeco is not wrong. QBs are taking advantage of the hit rules. If you cross the line of scrimmage you should be considered any other player. Pat Mahomes takes advantage of it all the time

@BigE-74711 сағат бұрын
@@helper2708 .6 seconds is an eternity for professional athletes. Batters have to decide whether or not to swing their bat in .015 seconds against a fastball pitch. All the other players follow the same rules. Al-Shaair is a repeat offender, if this was his first time, there would be a fine and no suspension.

Patrick Mahomes has been able to take advantage of these situations twice this yr that led to wins! The defenders are being hand cuffed! These stupid rules are leading to a worse game and more injuries! All that said, I hope Trevor is ok!

There's a reason QBs look skinny and unatheltic compared to their peers and it's because they kinda are, NFL doesn't like other players laying hands on them even if they make most unsafe plays or moves, if they keep going like this they might as well put ribbons on their hips have them play tag football while the rest of the team plays the real sport.
