You can check their mkmf 2008 or sbs gayo daejoon 2008 performance, they have the live mirotic n kind of bside (but have mv as well)

For Mirotic, the songwriters sold the song both to Sarah Connor's team and SM at the start of 2008 and they were released a few weeks apart in August 2008 (Sarah) vs September 2008 (TVXQ). It's in her album Sexy as Hell (title: Under my Skin) . That's probably the version you've heard! Rebel was written by Kenzie, she's the one who spearheaded the "SM sound" including mashup style songs since the early 2000s. One part of TVXQ's sound has always been experimental production so the song makes a lot of sense as their 20th anniversary release. NCT and aespa are 100% TVXQ's descendants sound wise. Tri-angle (2004), Rising Sun (2006), O-Jung.Ban.Hap (also 2006), Catch Me (2012), Viva (bside, 2012), Humanoids (2013), Yunho's solo song Drop (2017). But where they really go all out in experimentation is their Japanese releases. They have some weird af songs lol. In that way Rebel is somewhere in the middle between their identity as TVXQ! (in Korea) and Tohoshinki (in Japan).

You can see Mirotic in the JX version / Jaejoong and Junsu / who did a few collaborative, anniversary concerts "Identity" at the end of last year. There are a lot of good videos uploaded by the fans.

"They use it for the right reasons." Me, thinking about the "I really wanna touch myself" part in Purple line 🤣 I love how you commented that Yunho stood out to you with his star quality, because he often gets overlooked in my opinion. Another song where they let themselves go...Hmm, Balloons is pretty wild, the MV I mean, they had sooo much fun. Interesting, for me Rebel is absolutely perfect, especially the "bringing the energy" part. It is different to their usual stuff but I think it was overall well recieved? They do have very diverse sounds: Something, Before You Go, The Chance of Love, Catch Me, Keep Your Head Down, Jungle, Rodeo, Maximum... And I only named some OT2 songs. Anyways, loved your reaction!

so happy for the TVXQ reaction. when Rebel came out, at first I can't fully enjoy it so I think I do understand what you mean, but after I repeat it multiple times, the song slowly become addicting. I prefer Down more but I absolutely understand why Rebel is the title track. but overall, Rebel is very well received. they have soooo many good songs, for b-sides maybe you wanna listen to Mirotic album first, I love all the song there (personaly favorite album) or maybe their live performance especially their Japanese discography like Bolero, Begin, Love in The Ice, Summer Dream, Why Did I Fall in Love With You, Forever Love (all ot5).

For me who had fallen in love with TVXQ because Tri-angle and Rising Sun, TVXQ is always stand for experimental styles of music. Thank to them I'd broaden my taste every now and then. At first, I didn't like Rebel and thought that Jungle should have been a title track instead but now I get why Rabel was chosen. It's a unique song. Anyway, their Japanese discography is much more interesting. Their 'T' album introduction song 'TRICK' is a combination of each member's solo songs (Max's Two heart, Yuchun's Runaway, Xia's If..!?, U-know's Close to you, and Jejung's Keyword) Also, in Epitaph album, they mash up Max's solo 'Light up my moon' and U-know's solo 'Shake it like this' by playing 2 songs at the same time and frankly we got a new song called 'Light my moon like this' Others fun songs are Secret game, Jungle (japanese song), Reboot, Viva, and if you like Boyz II Men, I recommended the mild one like '12시 34분 Nothing Better'

I really like the way you reacted them. You're very detail 👍👍👍🥰 Hug is seemed easy song. But TVXQ harmonies made it bcame beautiful. Mirotic maybe one step more difficult. But once again tvxq harmony, adlibs, and the way how they sang it made it's fullhouse strong vocals and I almost couldn't find others cover Mirotic good & their covers. were not satisfying us/cassiopeia. And for REBEL, I heard a vocal coach said this song has IDEALISM. This song...yes it has complexity even when I listened for the 1st time, I coudn't enjoy it. 😅

High note (some call it scream) is always Changmin. Adlib mid song usually Junsu (when you asked who did adlib during Mirotic), end of the song mixed between Junsu, Changmin and Jaejoong. Those three are in charge of different types of high notes lol You notice Yunho in performances because Yunho is the center. You'll get people telling you otherwise because Jaejoong usually stands in the middle due to their acapella position. But Yunho is front and center in the chorus for a majority of their dance songs 🤷🏻♀️. Fun fact, their debut song could've been "Whatever they say". But I guess like with SNSD they wanted a more idol like image.

I loveeeee whatever they say, especially the acapella version, such a shame they didn't get remastered. BTW, I think the best sample to describes each member's different types of high notes are Tonight and Bolero.
