Oh my gosh! This is such helpful advice! I go into a flow state in and out. Every time I go to the flow state, my teachers applaud me then that kinda messes me up because I don't want to "mess up" but I realize that there is no wrong or right way to act, it's just living life! The advice is something I'll treasure throughout my journey! Thank you so much :)

This vid is awesome, I'm currently in Rwanda and I've started watching your videos in 2020, I'm just in awe with how simple acting is, I'll be moving to Sydney, Australia soon, and I'm just really looking for a chance to take an acting class to finally decide whether I want to commit to this thing or not, your videos always give me such a positive insight on acting as a whole ofc with you being able to keep it real on the reality of trying to make it as an actor, I'm just someone that really just took an interest in acting and trying to absorb as much as possible so I could determine if this is what I'm willing to do or not, it's been pretty convincing so far, but an acting class will be the cherry on top. Thank you so much on your videos, I really appreciate them It's just amazing.

Thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate them. I’m glad I’ve been able to be such a help to you, these stories always bring joy to me! Yes, testing acting out to see if it’s a right fit for you is a good idea. Better to find out early on rather than later. I’ve seen too many actors get into this industry when it really wasn’t for them or the timing was just off. It really depends on the person :) I’m glad I could help and wishing you all the best!! 👏🏼

This was a great video, thanks so much! This one and the others I've watched have really been helping me get better at getting into the characters that my agent gets me auditions for. I haven't booked anything yet, but I've been becoming more confident in my skills with each audition because I've been able to get into my flow state more easily, and I've been realizing that acting is just doing what I normally do in various situations and if CDs like it (and I look the part), then I'll get cast. Please continue to make content on your channel. It's SO useful (and a LOT cheaper than acting lessons)!😊🔥

#1 practice lines when doing some other activity. I wondering if this is making use of the memorizing technique sometimes called localization where you associate a memory with a particular aspect of a route you travel. For example when memorizing your lines while fixing your bicycle, do you think bicycle fixing and naturally associate a particular line with a particular sequence while fixing your bicycle. #3 eye contact. Don't stare as such, keep your peripheral vision active while looking into their eyes. In hunter jumper horseback riding their is a technique known as soft eyes where you concentrate on using your peripheral vision, keeping your hard vision soft. This transforms your body to allow simultaneous reactions, with your eyes forward. This is a very important technique in couples dancing for the lead dancer. The lead dancer has to process dance traffic and stay in eye contact with their partner. Soft eyes is not totally easy to pickup. First practice by trying to keep your peripheral vision active on one side then the other. This technique is very useful in running. Using your hard vision verses concentrating on your peripheral vision use a lot more brain processing consuming oxygen and does not allow as much overall control over efficient use of your body. Running in a sprint is different. For that focus on a point a few feet past the finish line and envision transporting yourself there.

Just a word of advice to the presenter: In your introduction, you are mixing singular and plural. Several times you said something like "you all," even though initially you came across as if talking to just one person. You had it right initially; KZbin is a one-on-one medium, and you will be more effective if you always speak as if to just one person, not a crowd. Thanks for the very helpful tips! Love the "eye contact" thing.

Flow state!!! And Record your lines and save it on your phone!! Listen to it on the subway like a podcast or when at the gym or work. You'll memorize it quickly. Also pro tip.........in the beginning.........actually write down your lines as you read them on a separate piece of paper. This is a memorization technique and you will remember everything you read actually. I didn;t buy textbooks in college and did this recommend by a professor and I got straight As. And don't be overwhelmed by the volume of pages. Treat each scene separately and think only about each paragraph not entire pages. MAIN THING.............TRY NOT TO GIVE A F*ck!!! The best comedians are ones w/ this "flow" and translates well to acting I would think.
