I was always told the best method to Act is to not simply pretend, but you truly become the character while understanding that character. This always helped me a lot in Plays and even in voice over too, it’s to believe in that character’s words, the scene, the character themself, it’s to escape into that world, even for a minute, and make it real for yourself as you speak, move and think as that character. Believe, do not pretend, give in, do not fake it, this video is very interesting, it keeps it simple while showing another way how to Act.

Excellent video man, thanks for the advice. But uh, does this still apply to theatre? I’m doing more theatre stuff rn.
@TheActorsAcademy5 ай бұрын
Very good question. The answer is yes. These points apply to acting in it of itself. Meaning it works very well for both theatre and film :) I’ve used it for both myself 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi as an aspiring actor I struggle a lot with actually memorizing the script, more often than not I tend to think a lot about what I have to say next, which doesnt allow me to be present in the moment, any tips for that? What i mean is that I normally understand the context of the scene and what is expected from my character, however learning the script so i can say it naturally is my where I fail the most, I keep coming to the same words or phrase to start all over, should I improv por often in this situations?
@TheActorsAcademy3 күн бұрын
Two things. Believe it or not, it may require more memorization from you. You want to be so memorized you could say it in your sleep. When you are this memorized there is no thinking “what comes next?” Additionally, how you memorize is extremely important. When memorizing avoid getting set in your ways for you’re the line should be delivered etc. instead Memorize your lines while applying many different intentions. Most intentions will be wrong and that is fine, you’re just keeping yourself on your toes during the memorization process. Eventually you will of course get more set in the ways of your text. Hope this helps!
@marcel_chavez3 күн бұрын
@@TheActorsAcademy Hi thanks for your reply, this indeed helped me, but when you mean to avoid the sets of the way of the text, is more about that doesn’t matter how the line is being delivered while I’m just rehearsing the text it only matters the fact that I actually burn the text in my memory and when is time to act I will have more clarity on how to deliver the line? And you are right, probably I do not pay much attention on memorizing lines of text even more on things like castings because they tend to be a few lines, and I end up reshooting many times because I forgot the last few words which put me in a place of redoing the same shot many times just to get the dialogue right instead of the acting haha

Thanks for the tips. Quick question, is this too much to have going on in ones mind? would i do all of these? i'm new to acting btw
@TheActorsAcademy5 ай бұрын
Good question. It’s all up the the individual. Ultimate tools are used to help you find/define your characters. Ideally, the more you incorporate these tips the better your performance will be, but with that being said you need to find what works for your instrument. Maybe all you need is tips 1,3, and 5 or 2 & 8 or whatever combination you choose. The only way to truly find this out though, is to incorporate these tips for your instrument

What can we do to improve our voice? As my voice is not that much nice it breaks between lines is not in a tone...?

Yes! There are many vocal exercises out there. It’s hard to explain over text, but there are many videos on it. You can also look at my videos on how to speak clearly if that helps! 👉🏼 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aomymHWan9Crp6Msi=fOfU56HiCJfr7bsb

@@TheActorsAcademy ty,they dont give me the script to read(due to low budget), they usually read the dialogue to me and i have to listen focus and portray it which has been tough for me depends on the dialogue
