Thank you for the reminders, Diane. I'm a former kindergarten teacher that took a break from littles to teach 3rd grade for 2 years (I loved it but missed littles)and next year I'll be teaching TK. This video was filled with valuable information to remind me to build those relationships, practice classroom/school procedures, learn our names, and learn routines. Especially since I'm teaching even younger kiddos.

i'm glad it helped! That would be a difficult transition, but fun! When I started teaching the little ones, I was shocked by what they didn't know and how they needed to learn everything. I was one of those teachers with big plans for centers. I found out real quick that I had to scrap my plans and start from the VERY beginning. I learned so much (and continue to learn) those first few years. It is still a challenge, but easier. best of luck, and thank you so much for commenting

I'm so glad! I am going to work on a video showing what my exact lesson plan/newsletter looks like for the first and second week today. It'll be a good refresh for me, and I think it will be super helpful for a lot of new and new to the age level teachers. Thanks so much for commenting! Best of luck with your new class Catherine

Thank you for the tips! Would you be willing to share what your daily schedule looks like? I’d love to see how you break down your day. I will be teaching preschool for the first time this year. 4 year olds MWF, 3 year olds TTh, and mixed ages in the afternoons. Your videos have been so helpful!
