It is such an unbelievable shame that many aspects of daily life have corroded and degenerated into extreme informality, individual and collective general ignorance, including ignorance over how to properly utilise language, the most basic communication tool which needs to be learned thoroughly and used in such accordance, and to witness that people have become carefree about a myriad of serious problems and issues that concerns all. Including political correctness, culture wars, war of the two sexes, screen addiction, the decline of books and libraries, and the worship of of technology rather than use and improvement of it in accordance with our (humans) needs. Such channels to reteach people how to communicate better are so important and must be endorsed and celebrated widely. Much appreciated.

Dear Leila and Sabrah, I came across your videos purely by chance and decided to watch one. Two hours later and I am still hooked. Some wonderful explanations here. Although I am a British national and teach Business English to non-native speakers in Belgium, your videos do indeed reinforce the expression; "you are never too old to learn". Having lived and worked abroad in 9 different countries over the last 40 years, I have certainly come to appreciate the importance of understanding cultural differences. For that reason I emphasise the point that, it is not just the content that is the most important but how you deliver your message and, above all, how it is perceived by your interlocutor. We live today in a very multicultural world where 70% of all English speakers are non-native and therefore with varying levels of comprehension. I strongly believe in and work on pronunciation and articulation in order to get a message across clearly and without ambiguity. I adored the clarity of your diction. Well done! I was fascinated by the History of English video, very clear and concise. I don't know if you have posted any videos on pronunciation and articulation, personally speaking I feel you would produce another inspiring video were you to decide to go ahead with such an idea. I would love to receive your feedback. Best regards. Simon

It's amusing that the more "formal /sophisticated" versions of some english words, are akin to the "normal" version of the same words in French and Italian due to their latin/greek origin. Thanks for this useful lesson.
