The Mazda CX-5 is far superior and retains its value over the next 20 years, achieving a fuel efficiency of only 6L/100 km. In contrast, the MG from SAIC Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation will likely cost more to operate and will be worth virtually nothing in just a few years....

since at my place the top spect MG HS PHEV cost exactly 1/2 price of the top specs CX5, both having the best offers maxed out, I am not that sure about the value over the next 5-10-20 yrs ( my target is about 10 yrs to change, to not lose to heavily on depreciation). but the upfront cost on CX5 is a huge step, approx 25k USD for HS PHEV in the moment against 50k USD for CX5. understand where you come from, but when I make my choice, I rather have the brand new MG than a similarly priced 7-8 yrs old, somewhat beaten down CX5 for the same amount of cash. if money not an objective....but it is ;)
