I had the old-school dos/windows upbringing so the console doesn't scare me too much, just learning the syntax mostly. Windows recall has finally put a finger up my ass to change to Linux and learn some new skills. You had me rolling with this video. I look forward to learning more.

actually reading the man man page was a game changer. so many people don't know that man has a search function and a "find next" function. also the evil dark arts command is "sudo su" lol

You should make a magical Linux powers t-shirt with a little wizard tux on it. I'd pay good money for that. This channel is pretty dope.

tip: instead of using "Booty\ Jams" (Shit sounds ridiculous), you can wrap "Booty Jams" (Again shit sounds ridiculous) in double quotes, so the command would be: mv Music "Booty Jams"

the existence and insane abundance of such videos harms the image of Linux. I'm tired of telling my friends that Linux is simple and intuitive and the console is FUCKING NOT NEEDED for full-fledged work. It would be better if people see more videos about good newbie user experience than this “write commands to move the mouse, write commands to open a folder” bullshit. HOLY SHIT i'm pissed.
@jermygod4 ай бұрын
I don’t see anything wrong with console commands btw(i use arch btw), but writing a "console/commands" and a "newbie" next to each other - is fucking terrorism. knowledge of even the simplest shortcuts transfers the user to the category of powerusers. and any knowledge of the console is a fucking black belt.

The problem with open source is too many programmers, too few UX/designers. My distribution can probably convert Wikipedia pages to square meters in Chinese out of the box and convert that back to dollars in mp4 format. but does not have a pre-installed virtual keyboard, although the damn thing has a labeled button for calling it which doesn’t do anything.
