Dude same here! Except 9 years ago. Family was too poor to afford MC, so MineTest it was. Once we got legacy edition I stopped playing it nearly altogether. I have so many memories, and they keep flooding and flooding my head!

My story was after 10 years of playing MC, I finally bought it but got the "Not available in your country" error and I couldn't fix the error. After a bunch of tries with VPN, my Microsoft account got locked and I was so sad. One day I saw Minetest in ubuntu software and installed it when I saw it looks like minecraft. I still miss minecraft😢 but minetest servers got me

Minetest is definitely the easiest and most accessible way to have a custom experience. All the mods are free, open source and easy to modify. Here's a modding book for Minetest if you're interested: rubenwardy.com/minetest_modding_book/en/index.html

Thanks for making this video! It has been a while since I did not play Minetest, and after completely deleting my Mojang account a few months ago when I saw what Microsoft and Mojang wanted the game to become, I looked back at Minetest. It's good to see that most mods I used to use are still there and being updated, I quite like MTG with a few mods, it's not like Minecraft that much, but it is a good thing in my opinion as it offers diversity and new things, and it also does not have the consistency problems that MC2 and MC5 have.
@dee23gaming2 жыл бұрын
I love playing Minetest sprinkled with a few mods (not too many). It's a breath of fresh air to Minecraft.
@atemoc2 жыл бұрын
@@dee23gaming It really is! I hope more people coming from Minecraft will not just look for Minecraft clones, but maybe for a slightly different experience, or even go with something completely different. There are a lot of good games out there for Minetest, and some even have their own mods made for them, like with Node.

I think that there could definitely be some quality-of-life stuff added to Minetest, but it's a good game even just as the default version. It has more features than the Minecraft versions it's based on.

My personal list consists of: - *Draconis* by ElCeejo - *Goblins* by FreeLikeGNU - *Maidroid NG* by mazes - *Wilhelmines Animal World* by Liil - *Wilhelmines Living Floatlands* by Liil - *Wilhelmines Living Nether* by Liil - *Witches* by FreeLikeGNU Plus *Folks* by SonoMichele, which is for making static NPC's in Creative Mode with custom skins and dialog.

I personally just use the Mobs API with Mobs Animal and Mobs Monster. I'm almost sure there is a Trader mod that uses the same API. I prefer to keep my worlds exciting and challenging, without mobs getting in the way with my building.

the i3 mod is a good mod for me, it adds a more organized/easier way to use inventory in my opinion, also the crafting table mod is good, although I personally don't use it, (i'll mention it in case you make a second mod video)
@atemoc2 жыл бұрын
I actually prefer not to have to rely on a crafting table, being able to craft most things from your inventory is just so convenient

@@atemocyes, i think the same, it's easier/faster to craft things from inventory instead of having to use the crafting table

I don't really use the i3 mod, because the crafting UI has a scrollbar on that same tab, so it prevents you from quick-crafting using your mouse scrollwheel. Thanks for the recommendation. It's great for Android devices. I use it there.

Cool video. One small content creator to another I have a question. The Minecraft music you use in the background...do you get copyright issues from that?
@dee23gaming2 жыл бұрын
Nope. It's good to use as far as I know. The whole world uses C418's music in KZbin videos, and I also never got any copyright claims. My very first ever KZbin video uses a song that was copyright claimed, but the creator seems to have allowed me to use it.
@BrokenCircle12 жыл бұрын
@@dee23gaming Cool thanks. Might use the music in ine of my videos then.
@StuffandThings_2 жыл бұрын
C418 has the rights to his music and tends not to be fussy about copyright issues. Its quite sadly why they stopped having him make music for the game, as they wanted the rights all to themselves like with the new music...
@dee23gaming2 жыл бұрын
I don't like the new Lena Raine music at all. It's not "Minecrafty" in the slightest. When I hear Lena Raine's music, I imagine some modern RPG game, and RPG is not my thing. Now Lena does make nice music, but it just doesn't belong in Minecraft. C418 gave Minecraft a unique and abstract sound.
@StuffandThings_2 жыл бұрын
@@dee23gaming Yup, precisely. Although I must admit she did a pretty nice job with the Nether music, and the discs are pretty great. But the 1.18 stuff? Nah, its just not right. Nobody can truly mimic C418's genius.
