I hope in overwatch 2 we get better tutorials.So that can people understand thier role in a team better. I only understand overwatch beacause of youtube.
@FirebladeXXL4 жыл бұрын
i really hate the overwatch teams approach to teaching players. they dont realize, that a huge part of making the game more enjoyable for everyone is to teach essentials. and i dont mean "your goal is to get on point and capture it" like they do in their tutorial. i mean like really show players what ow is about. teach em about chokes. about natural cover. about regrouping. staggering the point. dying quickly if the teamfight is lost.
@seaottar254 жыл бұрын
Strategy isn’t a part that overwatch as a game itsself needs to teach, it only needs to teach basic mechanics. Strategy is determined by the players, you don’t see league or r6 or any other team vs team game teach strategy in their tutorials. Plus, it’s difficult to teach new players convoluted battle topics, it’s easier for the players to seek it out themselves if they want to improve.
@FirebladeXXL4 жыл бұрын
@@seaottar25 fundamentals have nothing to do with strategy though. the problem of why the game often feels unplayable in lower elos, while lol in lower elos still can be quite enjoyable for example simply lies in that only in overwatch, lower elo players dont understand how the game is played at a basic level. they just do whatever and see if it works. and this is where overwatch is really different from any other team based pvp game ive played. and ive played lol, csgo, valorant, dota and hots. normally, the players of the different elos should differ in mechanical skill and consistancy of good choices. in overwatch, 90% of low elo players dont ever use cover, the tanks run in like its wow and they need to pull aggro, the heals think its their job to keep their braindead tanks alive only, resulting in them not making clutch plays like ever. and it goes on and on. everybody compensates for the others mistakes in the worst manner possible, keeping the spiral of bullshit alive. but if you start and teach players from the beginning, what the job and implications of their role is, for example that a tank hurts his team by taking unnecessary damage and by using his shield without it having value. or that a dps really should only be peeking cover and not playing behind shields simply because they are there. then you have a start of what could actually be a decent fucking community.
@seaottar254 жыл бұрын
@@FirebladeXXL there’s no way for overwatch devs to predict how their game is going to be played tbh. It’s difficult to implement at this stage, it might get better in ow2 but the best blizzard can do is just promote educational content. Tbh the devs are like plat >_> so even they don’t know what’s going on
@ascina92224 жыл бұрын
@@seaottar25 Of course the devs cant predict Metas but they could explain the very basics. The Tutorial is a total joke. Its ridiculous how many players dont know that the payload heals you on attack or that it moves faster the more people are on it (however this caps at 3 players max). You could do like a few tips for each hero even if you don’t explain them. I get any pick can work in the right situation but they could just be general tips when to play it safe.
@TheNerd4 жыл бұрын
Also this comes with time and "thinking". if it doesnt work just try another thing next time and see if it works better. If you start thinking like "should i play this or this" or should i do "this or this now" you definetly going to climb. If you are on autopilot like "im just gonna do this as always" then your stuck

@@TheNerd. I’m not saying I don’t do that stuff, I’m asking mainly for roles I don’t play but want to improve on and I think it would be a helpful video for lower ranks too. Sometimes team comp isn’t always set in stone and I get that, there’s not always one right pick, it depends on loads of factors. I’m asking for a general blueprint of hero synergies so that I can set up plays and give myself a bit more of an advantage is all.

1:17 i dont agree, the job of tanks isnt to take damage. each tank hero has different jobs and this is and that. mainly zayra is a tank where you want to die as little as possible and only take minimum damage needed, saying "take damage" is what leads people to think their invincible and they make risky plays. those risky plays force healers to heal more instead of doing other things like damage boosting, dps'ing on bap or ana or lucio, anti nades, etc which is more useful then healing a feeding tank
@yellowtunes27563 жыл бұрын
Its not about feeding, it's about taking damage. In low ranks people are struggling with going through choke points because their tanks either too passive (not taking damage, wasting shield and waiting for miracle) or too aggressive (yeating themselves into 6 people). Any ana or bap can get ult in 30 sec if rein will take damage without feeding. It will help to create space for dps (when rein pushes with nano or when all enemies are running away from window), people will get their ults faster and you will have better chances of pushing through choke
