I have the same 1950's drillpress. It was my Dad's and it is my prized tool in my wood shop. So nice to see another old workhorse still in use. I watch your videos faithfully and can't wait for the next one to air, cheers my friend cheers. Earl Ledoux from Northeast Connecticut.

Great job, I have 2 of these old drills. One is a bench top (1956) and the other is a 150 like yours (60s) and attached a mortise to it. Had to have my son (a machinist) to make a Delrin split collar to go on the spindle so it would fit. The collars that came with the mortise would not fit. Anyway, really appreciate your insights. I often get some of these gauges, magnets, and tools from TEMU. I know it is Chinese but they are manufacturing most of our consumables in the US.

You always have the best theme music. I watch tons of channels and some of the music sucks on others lol. It's funny how big of an impact it makes when you play a video with great music in either beginning or different parts. Keep up the great work.

I look forward to the video on the drill press table. Love this vid and all of your stuff, I just picked up a floor standing drill press off Craigslist and have been looking for ideas for a table to make. Can't wait.

NIce video. I am envious of the spindle lock and easy depth lock on your drill press. Mine has neither of those.

I got this drill press unused for 60 years for 50 bucks. It still had the factory safety stickers on it. Best deal I've ever gotten

I've been working with barrel staves to make frames and tablet stands. It would be cool to see your solution to drilling the top of a long board for a dowl. Right now I clamp the board to the side of the metal tray and swing it over into position. Another challenge is getting the 30% angle that I need to drill. A jig for those applications is what I need, but I'm a novice and a bit overwhelmed with the task.

Question, if I’m using a drill press and drilling a hole in the end of a long board or any piece of material that may be longer (3-4ft), how would you hold the material there so the weight of the material doesn’t lift the side on the table up. I’ve made pieces of support out of scrap wood to hold the weighted end up, and used clamps to hold it to the table, but I was wondering if you had any other tricks for that problem. Thank you

A bench top scissor lift works amazing for holding the other end of large pieces. Whatever height your drill press table ends up...just adjust the scissor lift to match in just a few seconds...or afjust to angle you need if you're drilling an angle

I put a magnet on my drill press so I can always find the chuck key. Before I added it I was just setting it down anywhere and I didn't always remember where I put it or it wasn't easy to find because of other stuff that may be on the bench.

I had that same exact drill press. Bought is for $50, cleaned it up, and sold it for $220. Was a beast while I had it. But was just too big for what I needed

I love it! Got mine for 50 bucks and it still had the factory safety stickers on it. Probably was used only a handful of times in 70 years

Nice! Mine came with a craftsman variable speed motor. Sometimes I miss it but also like the amenities of the newer one I got.

Enjoyed the vid, thanks! ...A suggestion for a “Part 2”, Either an angle jig (for chair or stool legs) or the use of an angle adjustable table for the same purpose and use of say the digital devices for accurate measurements (angles).

Great tips. Thanks again! may I offer an upgrade to your magnet trick? Counter sink 3//16" neodymium magnets into your carpenters pencils, lock in with CA glue, everyone will be happy to get a non constructive holiday gift while the dollar gets destroyed and everyone volunteers to be smothered.
