I use black cow but I don't know that it matters.

​@@CarlDoesStuffthink you can also save money and purchase them in bulk from suppliers not the blackkow but similar. I know of a really good supplier of cow manure compost in my area and it's about $50 per yard you can get them with a sand mix or no sand. They are normally used as top dressing for lawns.... and like many things some have better mix thsn others.

Mulch is just chopped out shredded up wood pieces.
