Listening to Schubert feels like walking along wet streets under a gentle drizzle while the comforting scent of linden tea fills a warm home. The melodies evoke the silhouettes of people creeping through slightly darkened streets, each note resonating with the beauty of solitude and the warmth of memories. Truly timeless...

I have always avoided melancholy, but it is a state in which I always reflect more on my thoughts. However, I have a double feeling about this feeling. Sometimes I am dragged into sadness, so I fight. This song takes me to these feelings and states, it sensitizes the soul, even elevates it, but I need some breaks to catch my breath in this sea of self-discovery.

September 2024 I woke up one morning and had no hearing in my right ear. After seeing many doctors, hearing specialist and getting a brain MRI they still don’t understand what caused it but that they know it’s permanent and that one day I could loose all my hearing. Since then, I appreciate every moment with the hearing I have left because one day, it might all be gone. Every laugh, song, rain drop, bird chirp, foot step silenced. With that in mind, I hope you all can appreciate this music and the feelings they evoke as much as I do. Maybe that’s impossible, bc maybe you can’t ever fulfill appreciate anything till it’s been taken from you. But maybe, just maybe, you might savor it an ounce more than you thought possible. And that my friends, is enough🩷

I, too, am partially deaf, but bilaterally. It's because my pediatrician gave me streptomycin for ear ache. Hearing loss can be a side effect of streptomycin. Although yours is sudden hearing loss, it might not fall into the streptomycin category. But anyways it can't hurt to investigate childhood earaches and treatments. Nothing can be done for my loss. I had homeopathic countertreatment and years later bio-resonance and special herbal treatments, but nothing can make the cochleal hairs regrow to date. I just use my two hearing aids. I empathize with you. Your loss hit a cousin of mine.

Message fully received, and I wish you all the best, even as a stranger. Medical breakthroughs happen all the time. I know some people don't like to be told to hope, which I completely understand, but perhaps there might be a bright spot in your future. But if not, at least you'll still have your eyes to see, your hands to hold, your feet to walk, your nose to smell and a whole world of sensations still there for you. Most importantly of all, you'll still have your brain to remember and to strive. So hold on tight to this music; even without the use of your ears, you won't ever lose this sweet, sweet sound, not fully.

I recently bought an alabaster bust for my home, but I didn't want it to be anyone recognizable/ancient Rome, etc....bought a bust of this gentleman without knowing who he was or what his profession was. I've had him in my home for about 4 months sitting on top a stack of antique books on an 1800s side table. Figured hey, he's part of my home, I should know who he is. Looked him up and I am speechless. His music is brilliant. His life so short. I feel honored to have him as a permanent fixture in my home.
