This is basically how I feel about my autistic friends- I don’t necessarily know anything about their special interests, but as a person who was never allowed to talk about my interests growing up, I like hearing them be passionate about stuff they like.

Not to armchair diagnose but I'd be incredibly surprised if Brennan doesn't have autism or ADHD. His conviction to rules especially feels like he has at minimum a touch of the tism

one of my absolute most favourite things in the world is that glint in the eye that people get when you show interest in their special interest... it's honestly the most endearing, attractive, and just all around amazing thing ever when someone realises they can just dump on you all of their thoughts and tell you everything you never realised you wanted to know about whatever it is they like. i live for it, truly.

Sometimes I look for special interest KZbin channels. Like an entire KZbin channel dedicated to different ceiling fans or automatic doors at different stores. Just any possible thing you could imagine, there's someone out there with an intense interest who will make a KZbin channel about it. It's just interesting to see people having so much appreciation for so many things that I would never even consider.

Absolutely. A bunch of people will roll their eyes when someone gets super deep in some topic the listener doesn't care about but I love it just because it's fun to poke around what they know and learn random things along the way from someone who has a passion for that topic. It's easy to converse because you just ask questions and maybe try to relate to things you know.

@@mee4062 I… I genuinely can’t tell if you’re making an autism joke by pretending to misinterpret or you’re just actually being autistic by misinterpreting, but I love you either way! 😅 In case it helps anyone understand: In politics and industry, “special interests” is generally (mild simplification) a big fat euphemism for corporate lobbying, which in turn is generally (another mild oversimplification) the primary mechanism through which the very wealthiest members of a capitalist society exert an extremely disproportionately massive degree of influence on the course of that society’s regulations and laws and government. In very blunt, very layman terms: It’s billionaires _claiming_ to be advocating for the rights of the many many (economically exploited) workers employed under businesses that they own, when _in reality,_ they’re mainly only advocating for whatever benefits themselves the most.

@apocalypt_us79414 ай бұрын
@@BlooGhost Hmm it's hard to pick one favourite fermentation, but I do try to make sure I've always got some home made kimchi in the fridge or cupboard. I ferment home made hot sauce as well with chillies that I grew from my own plants from seed. Both of them are pretty easy to do actually! Also I love doing different things with my sourdough starter which I find pretty easy to keep going. I've got a few chilli plants (rocoto, serrano, and orange habanero) and herbs to cook with, as well as some begonias I got as cuttings from my grandma, a lot of different types of pothos and philodendron and other tropical plants, and a few different types of hoyas which are my favourite. I'm lucky enough to have big windows in my apartment which lets in a lot of light which makes them all pretty easy to care for thankfully. One of my friends said when she visited last said that every time she comes over my place looks more and more like Poison Ivy lives here which made me laugh I do a lot of different cooking, I'm an omnivore but I like the challenge of different types of 'restrictions' sometimes and like to make sure my friends with dietary requirements have something nice to eat too so I'm pretty good with vegan and/or gluten free baking, and have done a few fodmap friendly dishes as well. Recently I made some vegan sourdough cinnamon buns which turned out amazingly, and just did a batch of pulled pork cooked with (home fermented ofc) tepache that I'd had sitting in the fridge for ages and wanted to use up. I had it with with home made arepas, my fermented hot sauce, and some salsa verde (with a little bit of chopped preserved lemon which is also a very easy home ferment) and sliced avocado. I was pretty impressed with myself after that meal lol
