Thank you for reviewing this pen. It was really helpful!! I have a vintage Esterbrook but not a modern one. It’s very high on my list but not quite as high as if it were more pink.

I'm so glad this was helpful! I really love the modern Estie model and have several of them. They are well-made and I find them very comfortable to use. They are classic but also fun. I agree - I wish this was more pink. But I'll hold out hope for a pink one in the future!

There are so many resin mixes that Esterbrook, Franklin Christoph and Leonardo pens have in common. There look very similar. This FC pearlple/ Esterbrook punch / Leonardo lavanda, the FC sage / ESterbrook seaglass/ Leonardo giada jade and FC cathedral/ Esterbrook botanical gardens.

You're right! I had the Leonardo Giada, and part of letting it go was its similarity to the Sea Glass. They weren't identical, but very similar! There is also a Jinhao 100 that uses a material very similar to Montegrappa's Marshmallow material. And there's another Jinhao with a material that I think is identical to Laban Rosa in Lilac!

Hahaha, I knew that Alt-Bordeaux wasn't what I was trying to find, but I was a bit flustered at not being able to find things alphabetically while also talking 😂 I'm glad I saw it in my notebook! Solferino will be a great match! I hope you'll love your pen!

Good golly, I don’t own an Estie yet. I wanted the blueberry, but passed. This one is so me though. Congratulations 🩷💜🩷 Waterman Tender purple would look lovely in it, but Rhorer and Klingner Solferino is my fav purple/pink ink, it’s so vibrant. Love the purple pen comparison. Gratitude looks lovely in it.

Esterbrook announced in their IG stories a week or two ago that they will be doing a white Estie in future. There was a white prototype sold to the public that they've been convinced to do a whole run of in future.

@@gingerpeachy Okay so I played around and I am sure it is magenta. Too purple for the pinks, but too pink for the purples. lol I inked mine up with Iroshizuku Yama Buddo. I am usually not a magenta girl (yes I got a sample of that ink just for this pen) and thought it was more purple when I bought it, but I am not mad, it is so pretty in person.

I‘m debating getting it as well. The internet photos I‘ve seen look to be on the pinker side, but the videos look more purple. I wish it were a bit pinker tbh.

I was hoping for a bit pinker, too, but I do also love this fuchsia color. I am crossing my fingers for a bright pink before long! Or a sakura pink!

In your video I’d call it fuschia. Some websites it looks pink which is what has held me back. The pen spectrum was definitely helpful! For the box, we use the larger pen boxes to hold extra converters and also for accessory charging cables, for phone, tablet, etc. that aren’t currently in use. If you knit, it could probably hold double pointed needles!

Unfortunately I don't think the little pillows come out of these boxes, so they wouldn't be able to hold much at all! I do reuse some boxes, like TWSBI Eco boxes. And yes, it's probably closer to fuchsia than magenta!

Lovely pink and purple collection! That Franklin-Christoph is stunning! I bought my first Estie Aqua recently but I'm a little disappointed in the colour. I thought it would be more depth and more intense somehow. Maybe I'll grow to like it more. The grip is very good though. 😇🩷🙏🙌

It is such an interesting color, and everyone has their own opinion about what color it is. I hope you find the perfect Esterbrook for you! I am looking forward to the white one they've mentioned being released next year! (P.S. I AM sending you some ink, and I even have it in a box, just haven't shipped yet. I hope the sample is tiding you over for now! :)

Mine is on the way! Got a 1.1 stub nib. I'd been recently waiting for a pink/purple colourway for the Estie so when this came out I was like "Were my prayers heard that quickly?!" XD I only have one other Estie (Botanical Garden with a journaller nib) and I'm curious if Esties work well with shimmer inks. That's what I plan to use my 1.1 for if it's not too risky. Otherwise, I'm happy to just use it with my drier multishaders/pastels~ EDIT: yes the colour comparison was helpful/interesting!! i love the fact that it's smack dab in the middle of pink and purple!

I currently have my botanical gardens (F nib) inked up with vinta sandugo and it handles the shimmer amazingly!😊

I have had good experiences with shimmer in Esterbrooks. They are just regular Jowo nibs with Esterbrook branding, so they're actually nothing too special. I love that you were just wishing for pink or purple, and you got something smack dab in the middle! haha

I snapped up the Estie Blue Moon, but was disappointed in the actual colour compared to the marketing images. The images from Esterbrook look like an Evergreen pen that has turned teal, whereas the actual colour is mostly grey (which might suit the name but not the marketing images). The Botanical Garden pen turned out a bit differently too, but not to the same degree. What looks yellow in all the online images is actually quite orange, so the red-green-orange makes me think of some kind of soup rather than a garden.

You're right - Blue Moon isn't the same as the photos made it look. I do have one now that I bought secondhand, and I do like it, but it's not exactly what I expected. That's interesting about the Botanical Garden pen! I need to see one in person. It made me laugh when you said it looks like soup! 😂

​@@gingerpeachyI've actually had two Botanical Garden pens. The first one had a problem with the nib housing, so I made an exchange. That one also had a lot of the orange. The replacement has less orange, so I am happier with it.

The Dallas Pen Show! How fun! I would love the opportunity to see more things in person before buying. So yes, be sure to take a look at it. Look at the Esterbrook Model J, too, because it's a full ebonite pen (did you see my video?) and it's SO GOOD. I've been reaching for it constantly!
