You are the best nib swaparoo guru. I got the courage to do that with my opus koloro after watching your video to stub and now I get more use out of it. So thank you ❤

I have the same pen in a 1.1 stub with Birmingham Pen Co. Flagstone. Beautiful orange pen & blurple ink combination.

Very interesting video. I have never swapped nibs. I was thinking of getting this pen, but haven't ever had a "Jr." pen. I may have to look at these again!

I’ve done the same on a Goulet Edison special edition Didn’t realize the nib had become loose and tighten the cap and really bent the nib badly Lucky I could get a nib unit to replace it

It’s tragic when it happens, but can luckily often be fixed-glad you were able to get a replacement for yours!

Beautiful color. In video, it doesn't look like a pocket pen. 😁 KWZ honey would be a great choice for this pen.

It is a little bigger than some pocket pens.

I never had a pen grind from them - I might have to get one. I have been wanting a specialty one. I just don't which one! I just got a Fountain Pen Revolution Ultra Flex and it's beautiful.

Supposedly their “secretary de flex” is really nice, but I haven’t tried one yet.

Although I still think the Esterbrook JR is very overpriced for what it is, I really like all the colors. The old line was nice enough. But this trio in the Paradise Collection are even nicer. I’m on the brink of buying the yellow Citrus Twist one with the Journaler nib. I reckon I ought to get a custom ground cursive italic (my newest love) for my pen because I already have the Journaler on another Estie of mine. Is your Imperial nib a kind of an oblique nib? Thanks for this very nice, lucid presentation of a pretty pocket Esterbrook pen.
@MysteryArts3 жыл бұрын
The Imperial nib is not an oblique--it is a variation on a cursive italic nib, but it preserves the rounded feel of the nib with some line variation. It's quite nice, but the line variation is not as obvious as with a cursive italic.

@@MysteryArts ..Oh, that sounds better. I do remember we both love cursive italics. I asked because obliques don’t suit my writing. Have you heard of the introduction of Esterbrook bottled inks? I got an email alert from Anderson Pens two days ago announcing the new line of inks. They look cool enough. Several colors offered. But premium price too; $30 for a 50 ml bottle.

@@sajjadhusain4146 I don't think obliques are for for me either. I've only tried a couple and they just didn't add anything to the party for me. I did hear about the new Esterbrook inks. I still need to look into them to see if it is worth that $30 a bottle--that would require some good colors that I can't get elsewhere. Diamine and Birmingham are my favorite inks lately--lots of variety and fairly inexpensive.

@@MysteryArts …You’re bang-on right about that. The inks have to merit the premium price. I have seen the colors; nothing standout special to my eyes. But trying out samples would confirm and help us decide. It really seems to me that Esterbrook continues to try to cash in on the brand and milk many of us Esterbrook enthusiasts for what it’s worth. They are making cool pens (and now, perhaps inks as well), but their pricing strategy appears to be out of whack. Anyway, I really enjoy your videos whenever I see them. I wonder why haven’t I subscribed before. Now, I did. 🙂 edit: Birmingham inks are swell; I have four I adore.

@@sajjadhusain4146 Thanks for subscribing! I'm glad you're enjoying my channel. I agree that Esterbrook does seem to price their products rather high. That is one of the reasons why I don't have one of their "special" editions made from small maker resin blanks--I'd rather just buy a handturned pen for way less with the same material. I do like the adapter that lets you put old Esterbrook nibs into the Esties--they are pricey as well though.
